Here's mine. I switched up the colors a little.

The background behind the houses is from Studio37 fabrics and is called Fade Out by Laura Berringer (Marcus fabrics). I have had it in my stash for a while and couldn't find more online except for quilt backing, which has the same pattern but larger scale. So, my outer ring is going to have the larger scale background because I don't have enough of the original piece.

After a lot of basting and ripping and redoing, here is my Mariners compass. The background is the ceiling of Grand Central Station. I only fussy cut one triangle with my birth sign, the ram. The others are attempts to get as much gold as possible.out of the squares I cut.

I used the Kona color of the year.

I love your choice of “world fabric”.... so appropriate for this quilt.

I pressed the heck out of my mariners compass, and amazingly it is now 14.5 inches!

The reason I haven't been able to make my Mariner's Compass. Had to get a friends quilt done, before I work on Color My World, and it has been killing me to see
all the great compasses, and not work on mine. But this is what I have been working on. Getting close to having it finished. HelenW

Here is mine. I placed the houses around it and realized I have a problem. For some reason I am not sure why I thought there were 8 houses of each size UGH I realized after looking at the picture it is 16 houses of each size meaning 32 houses. Okay off to make more houses.

Jenna - there are 8 houses each, 32 total. The first set of 8 houses #1 & 8 houses #2 (Jan). Then in March (I think), come the 2nd 16 houses, #3 & #4. The house sizes are the same, but the windows and doors are different & another slight variation on the top or lower half on 8 of houses but equal to the same length & width of others (something I read in Barbara's blog or post). Hope this makes sense.
