Small houses 3 and 4 are done. What a difference a full circle of blocks makes! Now it's time to start sewing pairs and putting up the design wall. This has been so much fun!

      Hello from Austria
I love this BOM too and I also love to see the various color schemes and interpretations of this quilt. So this is mine and it's so hard to wait until April

It is so interesting to see this done in a particular color scheme. It is amazing how different they all look. I really like the choice of background fabric--very appropriate for this quilt.

I finished my small houses 3 & 4. They are addictive; so much fun to do. I love the freezer paper method using the stitch in the ditch foot!

I love the different background and house fabrics everyone is using. This almost makes me feel like the houses are about to take flight.

Barbara, Did you still cut the 3-1/2" strips for convenience when making houses 3 and 4?

Yes. With Month 1 I started with 3” strips and wished I had done 3.5” so I stuck with that. It is an easy size to get the pieces from and is much more efficient than cutting each piece from the full size piece of fabric. I could have all the house fabrics in view, the 3.5” strips, and all the rest of the fabrics were put away— until I needed to cut another 3.5” strip.

I had a similar problem but I just moved the houses closer to the compass— problem solved!

Finished small houses and joined in blocks of 2 as described. Now I can't decided which compass to use.

I like the red/black. It pops out more from the background fabric

michelle, it is either the seam allowances that join the pairs—maybe too wide, or the way they are overlapped on the wall. I can’t tell if they are all pinned together or just sitting side by side, overlapped.
