Now, if the get together in Scotland becomes a reality we can always bring them back home with us
Good question Limbania - In the rules “Groups are responsible for the delivery and return costs of quilts”, in other words everyone is responsible for the delivery to me and return costs of their own quilts. How we are going to do that, don’t know at the moment but maybe me sending to Lorna who then post them to everyone :?: :?: That would involve payment to me and then payment to Lorna for postage and package to put the quilt in. Yes, I have a PayPal account. I think once the initial sending of the quilts from here to the US has been tried, it will be easier to say which is the most effective and convenient. Mind you, it would be great if the majority could take them home themselves after the show, what fun

I would imagine that the earlier quilts will be ok posting direct to Maureen, it is really the transits between members we need to worry about.

If Maureen doesn't have paypal, I do, so if necessary monies can be sent to me & I will forward a cheque.
Thanks Rosemary but I do have a PayPal account - who could live without Ebay

Is everyone happy about me sending their home addresses and email address to all the other members of the group not just the one they have to post the quilt to :?: :?: :?: :?:

Some of you have already agreed but I need everyones permission.

No problems from me - but then they might already have it from Wot Rott

Yes Maureen I am happy to share my address.

It sounds like we should keep the quilts on the small side so that it keeps down the cost of postage and keeps back the enquiring customs officials. I recently sent fabrics and things to the US and they all arrived within about 5 days. They were all under 1KG. And I put them into jiffy bags (those are the ones with the bubble wrap inside, I don't know if they are called something else in the US.) I also send the AAQI quilts frequently and they are usually there between 8-10 days. Maybe size matters in this instance.

Hi Maureen - You are welcome to give my address and email to anyone and everyone in our group. Thanks for asking!

I've never mailed anything internationally, so can't be of any help in that. But I am happy to do whatever I'm told and include whatever postage is required!

              Thanks!

              Nancy

You already know that it is okay that my mailing info be sent to members of this group but here I am again confirming that information.

I'm OK with sharing my address ....My experience with international mail is limited to our previous exchanges both being
good and timely. My 1st inquiries at the PO weren't very accurate...I don't think they have much experience.
Later, the Postmistress tried to give me an estimate but that wasn't too helpful either.
We are VERY small here....less than 900 pop. . I'll be happy with what ever you all work out . Just give me the instructions !
Sadly...there is always some risk when mailing anything !! We always hope for the best !
                      PayPal works for me !

And I hope to be able to collect my quilt in person. Scotland is very beautiful and it is always a pleasure to go there, so having a good excuse is great too.

In the back of my mind, I'm mulling over picking up my quilt in person. It's probably a stretch, but definitely not impossible....

What fun that would be Nancy. Country Heritage tours came this May on a tour of the UK and one of their stop was the Loch Lomond Quilt show. There were three other smaller groups of Americans as well. Of course it is not a large as the festivals in your country, especially Houston, as it takes place in churches around the area

But what better way to see the area than to travel around to the churches looking at beautiful quilts? And visiting with friends? It's a dream that I will try to make a reality!
