Safe flight and safe journey, Pam. You will be a healing force I am sure in Ruth's life. God be with you and Ruth and your family at home. Take heart--you will be covered in prayer while you are away.
Praying for the other needs that have been shared. Cathy is still in the hospital and critical. Pray for wisdom for the doctors to know how to proceed. Her situation is complicated by a medicine she was taking. As far as this being caused by saliva from a dog, I've never heard of this happening to anyone, either. It is scary.
      Blessings,
      Jane

I don't know if it's the time of year, or what. I've had some issues with my mother lately. A week ago yesterday, I got a phone call that she wouldn't get out of bed. We got to her, and I tried to find out what was going on. My mother is going to be 93 in a few weeks, and if she doesn't want to answer a question, she won't. Anyway, we got some, not all, things resolved; she's doing better. She has told me that she feels depressed. A few very good friends that I quilt with, and who are members here, advised me to get her to a geriatric specialist. We have an app't this coming Thursday.
I'm asking for your prayers to help my Mom to get over this rough patch. I think she wants to live closer-she's 1 1/2 hours away; I'm an only child, but have 2 kids and a grandson. Maybe she needs family.
                Thanks,

                  Eileen,
93, WOW! I will definitely keep her (and you) in my prayers! I will pray especially that the specialist is one that you and she both will "click" with and that you can get some helpful advice.

My doctor told me that there are lots of cases of depression in the spring time. Don't know why but he said there is always an increase.

I know where you are coming from. I,too, am an only child and my mother will be 98 next month. Less than a year and a half ago, we moved her in with us. It is hard when all they have to do is think about themselves. It is also difficult when the parent no longer has the energy or necessary strength to live independently. In essence the parent becomes the child and that is hard. I am fortunate that my mother has her faculties, although hearing is greatly diminished and not hearing aid suitable. Her joints are worn but she is still ambulatory and yes she is on an antidepressant. She shares pieces of history with me. Things that I would never have known if she were not living with me. I am blessed to have her with us. (Some times, I don't feel that way! Just need a reality check from husband.)
I will definitely pray that things work out for you and her.

Just wanted to mention Pam Day today. Since she is with her daughter, Ruth for an extended visit she didn't think she would be "checking in" . Let's remember Pam and her daughter in prayer. Sure miss seeing Pam's smiling face.
                        Blessings,

                            Thanks Karen.

I took Maria to the oral surgeon and she has an appointment to have her wisdom teeth out the end of March. He said that they don't normally take them out this young (she is 11) but it looks like cysts are forming around hers and they need to come out. Apparently the cysts can cause bone loss and he said you normally don't find it until you break your jaw because the bone is so thin. Hopefully this will take care of everything. I am thaking God that we seem to have found it early.

Poor darling. I hope the procedure goes well and that it is not too painful. I will remember Maria in my prayers. Lois

Hope Maria isn't too scared! My oldest daughter had a bad experience with a dentist when she was young and to this day she still has issues emotionally. Teresa, please remind us again closer to the date of her oral surgery. In the meantime, I will be praying that she doesn't get stressed over it.
