Welcome, Jane, to a fantastic and most loving army of quilting prayer warriors you will find on this planet! To share our lives with each other all over the world via TQS is a wonderful gift of technology and friendship among quilters. I, too, just recently found out about this prayer list from our SoTTT sister, Dawn (Scoopie), and am so happy I did. I'm saying prayers for everyone who needs employment, comfort, and most of all peace and love to help them through a bump in the road.

I'm thanking God for all He has given to us and for bringing Alex and Ricky (and their merry band of support staff!) to unite us.

    Hugs and blessings,
    Shirley

My daughter Melinda has a job interview October 20--would you all be praying? She is in the final interview stage for Teach for America and will be in Rochester, NY. She has been working summers with Americorp in Buffalo--working with refugee children from many countries including Somalia and Burma. That experience has solidified in her a real heart for teaching in what many would see as challenging situations. Thank you, Jane

It sounds like she's a shoe in, Jane. I'll have her in my prayers. Hope it goes well.

Hope and pray Melinda aces her interview and gets her dream teaching job! We need more teachers in the world with "heart"!

          Cheers,

Thank you all for praying for Melinda! She feels pretty good about the interview. It was quite an event--several hours! She hopes to hear good news November 8th. Melinda was happy to hear that the second most needed teachers are ESL, English as a Second Language, which is right up her alley. God really met her during the process so thanks and praise to Him who is able to do more than we ask or think. Blessings, Jane

Several hours in an interview! I'm sure that is a very good sign. Will keep good thoughts.

I have a couple of prayer requests. #1 - my DIL's mother just was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer and apparently an aggressive type.
#2 - my stepfather just found out he is in the beginning stages of Alzheimer's. Nice to hear about all the Houston fun and someday I will be able to attend. The quilts were stunning. Thanks, Sharon in CO

I'm praying for your requests. To hear the diagnosis of Alzheimer's or cancer is so scary when it's someone you love. I often ask the Lord for a cure and hope we will see cures for both in our lifetime.

Oh by the way, I remembered another request. The manager at the local Jo-Ann's, her name is Kathy, is a wonderful woman and awesome manager. Last week she had a cold that went into a sinus infection. On Tuesday that infection went into her brain and she had brain surgery on Wednesday. The employees thought she had a stroke the way she was acting, they called her husband who took her to the ER. Then she was airlifted to Denver. She will be out indefinitely. She is in a hospital in Denver, about 60 miles away.

                              Thanks again, Sharon
