Dawn, I hope things went well for Terry today. Drea continues to do well - the paralysis is slowly leaving her face, and her sunny personality continues to shine through. Her big sister Rachel was at the emergency room on Sunday, though - she and her brother Johann were goofing around and Rachel wound up getting her foot caught in her laundry basket, resulting in a deep cut to the bottom of her foot! Then today I felt like a goldfish swimming in a bowl between our doc's office and the hospital. Turns out DH is having an attack of diverticulitis - must run to the drugstore in a few minutes to get his pain med and antibiotics. He'll be on the BRAT diet for a few days until this calms down, and the pain medication should help him sleep, which has not gone well the past couple of nights. Then off to celebrate DS' 33rd birthday this evening. So life is good. Thinking of everyone who has posted here lately.

Dawn, I hope and pray that all went well with Terry's procedure today. Will continue to hold you both in my prayers.

Praying Dawn and waiting for an update

        Comment

I just realized tonight that I hadn't seen any recent prayer requests and I knew that couldn't be right. Apparently I'm not receiving the notifications but I've been on the Forum tonight and I've been trying to get caught up. I am so sorry for all the things you all have been going through! I will definitely be praying for each one of your concerns and situations. I guess I didn't notice this sooner because I've been under the weather a bit myself and my dad had surgery and there's the new puppy, then there was the Apple Festival here... the list goes on and on for me as I'm sure it does for all of you. I'll try to stay informed better from now on..

Thanks all for your prayers for Harry and Dad.

Dad is out of the woods now, and just has to recover from the painful routine surgery. He is a little frustrated with the brace for his shoulder and not being able to use his right arm, but frustration is a nice thing to watch, after watching him sleep..

Harry looked much better today, so the feeding tube is providing nourishment. Not sure where the problem is yet, but they know they will be operating before Christmas. I dropped off his birthday quilt today at his birthday party, so it will now go with him and take all our family love there to the next hospital visit.

Prayers still for Terry, hoping the procedure went well.

              Terry update.

Thursday was a long day at the hospital! They scheduled an Xray for 11:00 AM (to see if the stones had moved, and to know where they were at that moment) and the surgery/procedure for 12:30. We finally left the hospital around 5:30 PM.

From the time they wheeled Terry away for the procedure, to the time the doctor came out to give me surgery results, was well over two hours. She said it went fine, and she showed me a picture of the stone that was in his bladder. It was the perfect shape of an egg! She used laser to break it up. They did the lithotripsy on both kidneys, and inserted a stent from one kidney (with the largest stone) to the bladder. Time spent in the recovery room was lengthy! Terry was in a lot of pain, and quite nauseated. Due to an inability to void, he came home with a catheter. (More pain and burning) And, 5 different pills to take.

Yesterday started out slowly, times of excrutiating pain (probably passing lots of broken up pieces of stone) and times of severe nausea. He ate breakfast and lunch, and FINALLY started drinking more fluids about mid-day. Dinnertime he was in too much pain and nausea to eat. When we got up this morning, he was okay for the moment, so had a big bowl of high fiber cereal. (Pushing fiber, also!) Right now he is in his favorite chair, with his computer, TV on, coffee, and a special stuffed moose. We do not have any pets, so we have to rely on the fake kind for that kind of comfort. And, I don't have to feed it, and take it for a walk! He will remove the catheter Monday morning, and in 10 days or so, get an Xray and hopefully get the stent pulled out.

Mary, I am glad Drea is doing so much better! She is such a sweetie! I had a diverticulitus attack a couple of months ago that sent me to the ER, so can really sympathize with your DH! It changed my whole way of eating! I now buy the Costco size Benefiber, lots of Greek yogurt, high fiber cereals, and take a mega probiotic. I will be praying for your DH, and that the diverticulitis calms down really soon!

Cath, prayers going out for your Dad and Harry. How wonderful that Harry will be able to wrap up in the love of his family!

Thank you all for your prayers! I am slow with the update, but really didn't know what to report any earlier. Today appears to be a better day! I love you all!

Dawn, so sorry you and Terry have had such a rough time. Keeping you in my prayers for improvement as soon as possible. Wish I could send Terry my little chihuahua who gives off good vibes when one's not feeling well. Love and hugs, Jan

Dawn, it sounds like he was absolutely miserable. I am so sorry. Praying things will improve tremendously for him and rapidly!

I'm just now catching up on previous posts because I haven't received any updated notices lately. Dawn, time is the best healer and I sincerely hope Terry feels better every day from now on. I'm happy that "pesky" egg-shaped stone was broken into little pieces. The human body is an amazing healing machine and I pray Terry is on a speedy road to recovery. Continuing to say prayers for you and Terry, and everyone else on this Prayer List.

                            God's blessings to everyone,
                            Hugs,

Joan, you have a wonderful quilters' army of prayer warriors here for you any time. Hugs to you and may you have the strength to handle what life brings your way right now. I can't wait to see the quilt that you told your grand daughter would grow from all those bunny ears in your pretty jar!

                                Happy quilting,
