                Hi everyone,

Back again after a long absence. Had to move last summer. Everything boxed up for awhile. But I'm in a new place that I love. I found the grandmother's flower garden quilt that I'm hand quilting. Just about done. I'm looking for recommendations on how to do the binding. The edges are the hexagons. Should I round off the edges and add the binding so it looks like a scalloped binding? Or maybe I should ask this question in another forum topic? I looked on Youtube for something and could find lots of videos about how to sew hexagons but not about binding them.

Ok, I'll admit I did not start my great nephew's baby quilt like I had planned but I now have fabric to make him a toddler's quilt.

I really enjoy reading your posts. You are all incredibly supportive of one another! I hope you're all happy and doing well.

Hi Robin, for binding on your grandmother's flower garden quilt, I can think of several alternatives

                  1) sew in half hexies around the edge to square it up and then bind as usual.
                  2) apply the edges to a border strip to square it up and then bind as usual.
                  3) face the edges
                  4) do a 'knife edge' finish

                  Hope this helps
                  Robin

I did it! I finished the Grandmother's Flower Garden Quilt. (a year later from my post :woohoo: )

My cousin's mother in law started this quilt some time ago. She passed away before she could finish it so my cousin asked me to finish it for her. It could probably use another row of flowers but ran out of her fabric. It's fine just the way it is. I'll be giving it back to my cousin this month. Yay I'm done!

Thanks again, everyone, for your support. On to the next project!
