We've got a Wii and there was so much talk about the exercise program before my birthday I really was surprised that wasn't my present! I hear it's great, and a lot of Sr. Centers and Assisted Living places are using them b/c it doesn't stress joints...

Judy, I have my treadmill beside my bed and in line to watch tv and it still makes the best darn clothes hanger!

Mine is in a corner in my sewing room, it does make a good shelf, and it is going to be in the living room tomorrow.

Florence, are you using the Wii? I'd like to know what you think of it.

My daughter has asked for a the Fitness WII program for her birthday in October. The man across the hall at work got it and he bought it the day it became available and was very sore from playing with it the first weekend and I haven't heard about it since. I'll have to ask him how his wife likes it Monday.

I didn't have a chance to check in last Friday. I lost one more pound. I haven't gotten on the treadmill yet, but we did a lot of walking on the fourth. I need to buy a new scale because mine is far from accurate and never stays on the zero between uses. Does anyone have a favorite scale?

We have three scales. The last two visits to the doctor I went home and weighed on each scale and two were way off but one scale weighed the same as the doctor. That scale was one that belonged to my mother-in-law and my husband remembers using them as a youngster.

I've only played on the Wii a little, I didn't get the fitness program  so it's a little golf or bowling, I don't think I'll get very fit that way...

I did very badly this week! I ate a lot of fresh fruit, which is loaded with carbs, and am up almost 5 pounds and more than 2 inches on my measurements. People find it hard to believe that carbs affect me that badly, but I'm afraid it's only too true. So, it's back to low carb and seriously sticking with it. Another part of the problem is that I wrenched my knee while on our vacation, and it's not quite ready for me to get back to walking 5 miles a week just yet. I hope it will be ready to go next week. The walking really helps.

It is unbelievable how certain foods effect different people. Hopefully this weight will come off as quickly as it went on. Bring on the protein. I am trying to eat more protein too.

This article on msnbc.com caught my eye - Writing down every morsel doubles weight loss Dieters who kept daily food diaries were more successful, new study says.

For once it sounds like I am on the right track.

I'm an old Weight Watcher fan. I've tried other diets but go back to WW when I'm serious. Right now as I've shared before I'm calorie counting. I was doing 1000/day but kept having daily hypoglycemic battles being a diabetic. I don't know why because I was on 800/day for a quick loss in the winter and moving more because I was working and didn't have too much of problem that way. Anyway many sources say I can almost double that and still loose weight at my current weight. But I know my body won't loose at that because I do that normally and maintain and even gain. So now I'm trying to experiment with different counts. It's so weird how my body has different levels at different times.

I got so desperate and depressed after not losing a pound in weeks on different diets that decided to go to the one my doctor originally gave me which was a 1200/day calorie diet but on the same page was the 1000/day one so this week I started it and have lost 2.5 lbs so far, probably water weight. I am hungry in between meals and healthy snacks but am determined to lose something and then increase to 1200 calories. I need to lose before my next doctor's visit in Aug. I am still walking 30 minutes a day with the dog, Cody, and he pulls me right along. Judy in AZ

I actually used my treadmill today. I walked for 15 minutes chanting in my head encouraging thoughts like, you are worth it, don't give up this time, sabotage yourself and all you do is hurt yourself, you can do it. I hope I can keep going using positive reinforcements all along the way.
