Looks beautiful Karen - as does the little one.
I am heading over to Galway tomorrow for a class with Pam Holland, so excited! I am really hoping that the organization of the festival is better than last year. I couldn't get a place in the Bonnie Hunter class because I could only make it tomorrow for the day and that class was sold out. I would have loved that, oh well, maybe some other time.
Another beautiful day here today. DH is cooking dinner on the barbeque as I type this. Here is a photo of one of the flowers on my yellow azalea.

That's a gorgeous azalea Rita. Azaleas are my Mom's favorite flowering plants and yellow is her favorite color. I've never seen them in yellow before, wonder if she has. I'll show her the photo next week when she arrives. Would you please take a photo of the full bush? Enjoy your workshop and tell us all about it.
Gorgeous plants and flowers Marilyn!
So glad you're enjoying your vacation Karen. Sweet pretty baby!

DH doesn't know and neither do I...might be a noxious weed for all we know...but it's pretty !
My garden is rustic but I spent a while knitting on a prayer shawl for a friend who has difficulties
out on the deck this morning and thought its color combinations really wonderful . The picture doesn't
do it justice !! Washed out in the sun. Just thought I'd share !! Mother Nature does the best combos !!
We don't plan much !

I had a good day at IQFOI yesterday. My friend Janet and I started off at 7am and arrived in Galway at 9.30am. Enough time to check in, get the armband, find out where our class was and have a nice cappuccino and croissant before class. I really enjoyed the class with Pam Holland. She is great- patient, smiley, and everything was explained clearly and thoroughly. I didn't get my project finished because I didn't want to struggle with the sewing machines provided - they were not that great for FMQ so I was happier to take my project home and do it on my Janome Horizon.
After the class I met up briefly with Pam Day and we had a little chat which was lovely. What a lovely lady - maybe we will get to spend more time together at FoQ Birmingham next year. We had so little time to see everything because we were only there for the day - as it was we only just got to see the 'Under the Sea' exhibit before closing time at 6pm.
I think TQS members Carol Moellers and Dana Lynch deserve a very big pat on the back for creating a much more professional looking group of exhibits. I got to see both ladies briefly. I didn't get a photo with Dana (my bad) but I did get one with Carol.
Everything was better organized this year which was great to see. Sadly the vendors hall was small again with mostly the same Irish vendors. For those of us here in Ireland this is a little disappointing because we need to be able to see and buy things we can't get here normally. Not that it stopped me from buying things - just that I would have bought more if I knew that I couldn't get it here at another time.
I really enjoyed the exhibits but in particular there was an exhibit of award-winning quilts that we would normally only see on shows like TQS. For example, David Taylor, Sherry Reynolds, Claudia Pfiel, Ann Peterson and so many more. It was a beautiful collection and well worth the visit.
There seemed to be a lot less people there this year - probably because of the bad publicity last year so I don't know if there will be another one next year but if there is I will definitely be going because we don't normally get teachers of the caliber that I have experienced at IQFOI here in Ireland. I also think it's very good for us Irish to see what quilts look like from other parts of the world. And perhaps a different more compact venue would be a little less tiring but the setting of Galway University is very lovely.

Hey Rita, if you are definitely doing FoQ in Birmingham, so am I - I have even been wondering abut putting Caught Red Handed in too  One thing for certain - you will absolutely need an extra suitcase if you do come.
