Good Morning Lois, i get quite a few parcels from the States to switzerland, many of them ones i post to myself when I'm there and send my purchases to myself. The US Post Priority Mail Flat Rate Boxes are brilliant. They generally take almost exactly one week from the US post office to my door. Cost is fairly pricey - but much less than from Switzerland to the states or from Canada to Switzerland.

And it doesn't pay to skimp and go economy - because with Economy it generally takes a month and has been known to take thrr (yes 3) or even 4 months - I think they find the slowest, oldest boats to put them on... I have been known to receive birthday prezzies (posted in early November) just in time for Easter!

So priority mail flat rate boxes are my first choice ( unless you have a good deal from your local UPS or FedEx guy...)

Ding-ding, round 2 for the Chinese Whispers has started 8) Good luck to you Marilyn.

Would you recommend that we continue practicing playing with other quilts out of the gallery while we wait our turns?

I also prefer the flat rate priority mail envelopes or boxes. I just didn't have one this time that fit. I used a tyvex envelope that I had on hand. Most of the different priority flat rate mailers you can get free from the post office. Priority is safest bet for quick posting. Like Lotti said--generally a week but we had Thanksgiving in there so that slowed it down.

And as I said, quilt arrived in fine shape. Envelope was good and there were multiple layers for safety.

What.... her stash of ufo's?  I'm sure you can make your own

Maybe just wants to raid the stash stash, not necessarily the UFO's stash. 8)

Speaking of stashes - what's the best motivation to finish up those UFO's? I think I'll post this over in the 'motivation' thread.

You got it, Terrie: it's the stash stash! Marilyn has some of the prettiest fabrics she makes her UFO's and non-UFO's with!

Another lovely one Marilyn. This is definitely your year for getting things done! I have been working on some Christmasy cushions. But this evening I got sidetracked on making that 8-pointed star from Edyta's show. Needless to say it did not go well. I have never made one before so setting in the triangles and squares was a bit of a nightmare. :x I am going to bed now because I just can't seem to get it right. Oh well, tomorrow's another day. :|

Thanks for the head-ups Rita. I thought of trying that 8-pointed star, but may wait a little longer, based on your experience. I'll stay busy English Paper Piecing.

Edyta makes it all look so simple and easy-peasy. But when you're a pro, that how things look to the amateurs. ops:
