UPDATE--I took time to check the Month 3 Small Houses 3 and 4--they both measure exactly 11" tall--mathematically. So, don't worry--if your houses are close to 10.875" --11" tall it will all work out--mine did.

AND, you should take off the paper from the top and bottom before joining them--trim accurately, take off the paper, sew the units together with an accurate 1/4" seam.

I'm not making this project so can't give you the measurements, but if you are using the freezer paper paper-piecing method then you don't need the paper on the pieces to attach them. You should have trimmed the two pieces before removing the freezer paper, then attach the two pieces together with a 1/4" seam allowance. If you do need to reapply the freezer paper for some reason, you can easily do that, too. Just align a couple of intersections in the piece with the same intersections in the freezer paper using pins, then just iron (or glue if the freezer paper is getting old) the freezer paper back on the piece.

If you are doing regular paper-piecing where you sew through the paper and you happened to remove the paper too soon, you can print out another copy of the paper and reattach it to the fabric using pins in the same way as above and a little bit of glue to hold it in place.
