    Square print measurement

If my square has a thin pencil line difference for the one inch measurement, is that okay? I’m saying it is a very fine line.

I’m having trouble with the square measurement as well. I printed both the block of the month pattern and Barbara’s pattern for cutting the background at the same time on the same printer. The inch square on Barbara’s pattern is perfect, but the inch square on the BOM pattern is smaller by 1/8” in both directions. Since both were printed at same time on same printer, I don’t know what the problem is. Any advice?

Try printing just the two pattern pages, 9+10, and increase the percentage. Someone said they had success with 102%.

I also am having difficulty printing not just the top and top tips of the square, but the bottom line of pages...as if the margins are set too small, when the setting is the default.

        I custom set @ 99%, 10%,101% & 102%, the margins just didn't print the top of the square or tips of the sides;
and cut off bottoms of pages 3 & 7 in the Bock 1: Small houses 1 & 2.

I do have very narrow margins set on Word documents as that program's default, and am not understanding why these pages appear to be printing with a narrow margin, too.

Any suggestions? Please. I feel I am wasting very costly ink...

Changing the default on the Word program did not make any difference; I still am missing the top 1/4" of the square, that means the 1/4" of the upper sides and the top bar.

Since I had no Printer choice of Accurate, I changed Default to Custom & selected 100%. It worked, got my info in the top & bottom margins & my 1" square was completely printed & measured 1" square.
Yahoo!!! Whew. Very relieved! Can't fit a newer printer in my fixed budget; am retired.
Now waiting on the freezer paper order to come in & will be trimming 4 corners of kit's fabric & do laundry... whew, again. Thanks for your support, even if you didn't leave a reply!

Greetings! I have an HP Envy Photo Printer #7855. When the print box pops opens, instead of 'letter' size I clicked on the 'dropdown arrow' and selected A4 paper size. The scale came out perfectly on the print. I believe that paper size option is available on all HP printers.

Wow! BleuRose, can it really be that easy?! I just tried that with my HP printer and my 1" scale box on both patterns is also perfect.

Received the freezer paper yesterday, so to print today. By the way, when I laundered the shot cotton fabric, after trimming off the 1/4", on the diagonal on all 4 corners of each piece.... the fraying was from all of the sides of the shot cotton & it seemed worse than a rats nest. After pulling many threads off, I stopped, realizing I was making the fabric more narrow. So, I will just use my rotary cutter & a ruler to trim these long threads off. Doesn't seem the corner trimming did much good.
I have used the technique for quilters cotton fabrics & it helped there, as it did with the regular cotton fabrics in the kit. Ahh, just a speed bump in this adventure!

I have a HP Officejet 6600 printer. I set the scale to "default" and it worked perfect. Warning on printing on the quilter's freezer paper sheets, they did stick together and my printer pulled 2 pages through at a time. So I just printed each page and manually fed the freezer paper into the printer.

Watched today’s Live event, a bit late. Thank you and to the 14 granddaughter for the HP App. Short learning curve later and patterns printed on paper in correct size. Awaiting my kit and freezer paper package. But can copy from paper once again checking the inch box is accurate.

YAY! Easy-peasy. Thanks for the kudos, Barbara. Glad I could help with this issue. Now if I can just receive my BOM kit.

I have a Canon printer and struggled with it. Then when I downloaded the pattern and printed from the PDF, I hit the printer button and then hit "more". I found that my setting had been on 70%. I changed it to 100 and have perfect size now. I had never adjusted my settings at that location before. Maybe it'll help. Good luck.
