    Show Us Your Fabrics

This quilt lends itself to lots of interpretations. Let’s see what you have come up with.

Here is a palette by a local student who is taking a year long class with me. She is using the royal blue as her background.

Other choices include the lovely map fabric by Tim Holtz, surrounded with Cherrywood cottons.

And if you prefer a plain background, these backing fabrics in batik would work well.

These fabrics are from Windham by Marcia Derse Palette Texture collection. A white tone was added to construct a church, as well as a red color to build a barn. Hopefully, swapping out several original buildings for a church and barn will be doable without too much difficulty. The background and binding is from Moda: Grunge Hits the Spot.

Greetings from Down Under. Here are my fabrics. The one on the right will be my main background with the one on the left being the border. A little more subdued than I really wanted but what was available in the quantity needed.

Love the fabrics, especially the background. I am looking forward to seeing your finished product.

I have some 10" squares of Peppered Cottons and found the background fabric in my store. If I find time to make this quilt I will probably only make the center section and use 15 degree wedges for less houses. I'm thinking the houses need to be spread further apart since I live in the country now. Maybe put some wildlife in between them if I can find a fabric to fussy cut with trees in the background. Also I would like to put a church, schoolhouse, barn, and courthouse in the corners. My first draft had it surrounded by log cabin blocks and a fence border, but that would require lots more fabric and time. I may do the fence border. It may never be more than a computer drawing since I have more projects than I have time for already in progress. But it will be fun to make if I can make the time.

Annis, beautiful background and the Peppered Cottons are perfect. Whatever you do, will be wonderful.

Hello from the North of Germany!
The mystery quilt with Alex made me so happy this year and when I saw the Color my World preview I fell in love on first sight!
Finally I bought my fabric at one of my favorite quilt shops and here are my fabrics: The background is not well visible, it is of blue sky with white clouds.
I am so much looking forward to getting started! And I was lucky enogh that my new Elna 720 Pro arrived the week before Christmas

Hi from the French region of Switzerland
I have to shop online and my fabrics have not arrived yet. Here is the background fabric I chose. Moda Weather Permitting, Cloudy Forecast (I believe) in blue.

On one of the forums, believe it was Helen, she posted a draft scaled down like the houses, for a Church, school, (and maybe a barn). I was quite impressed, as I want to add my Church and little school in our neighborhood.

Morning from England (a country in COVID 19 lockdown)
Excited to begin my first BOM with The Quilt Show. I have chosen a background Makower UK fabric 1831 Monochrome Dotty Scallop 100% cotton which I managed to purchase just before the fabric shops all closed for the lockdown until mid February. I will be using my stash fabric for the majority of the quilt.
