We are all just getting a bit older, aren't we? Darn it!

I purchased the Martelli rotary cutter at festival. It's going to take some getting used to. I did try to use it on a quilt last weekend but it slipped on one of the long cuts. I didn't have any extra of that fabric so ended up going back to my olfa cutter. It did require some use of my thumb which is better but not back to normal yet. I think I will wait until my thumb is completely healed before trying it again and practice on scrap fabric first.

On a sadder thought please pray for our family as my DH's uncle is put to rest. He was like a 2nd father to us, or maybe even like a brother. We enjoyed his company for many month long visits at our country home over the past 35 years. He enjoyed cooking for us when he was there and one of his greatest joys was seeing the flocks of turkey and watching them go to roost at night. Prayers for his wife as she makes plans for her future without him. They both retired from the military and have been a blessing to our family. They didn't have children of their own but watched our children grow up. He will be missed.

Thank you for getting me here. Loren is having an angiogram tomorrow at 1:00pm CST. If you can lift a prayer or two for us--I will be forever grateful.

We had a nice sunny day today for the funeral. Thanks for all of your prayers. It was a sudden unexpected loss, although he lived a good, long life. His wife is doing well. He lived as far east from our city home as our country home is west so I'm spending a lot of time on the road.

That long list of quilts I was wanting to make for my retreat center won't get made. I've come up with a solution though. I will be making bed runners instead and using coverlets on the beds. I already had several in progress and will be getting them out soon to finish them. I figure I have enough fabric in my stash, orphan blocks, ufo's, etc. to make most of them. Just need to stay busy.

Prayers for Loren and Ritzy and all those in need.

I just returned home with Loren. He is grounded for a week and has some medicine changes but seems to be good. Thank you so much for your prayers.

Thanks for letting us know, Ritzy.
I hope it's going to be a 'glad grounded', not a 'grumpy grounded' . Will still be praying.
