Mia needs another surgery; Happy is to have surgery on the 7th; Timothy(15) was in a car accident--air lifted to Indianapolis with head injuried; a broken leg and shoulder injuries. It is unknown who was driving.

Maggie, great for clearing that up...I had forgotten they only recommend over 60.

Hopefully it is clear now that the virus resides in a nerve root near the spine and just suddenly (they don't know why) it decides to irritate and infect that particular nerve and thus the pain and blistering along only that one root pathway.

If it happens to be on the head, neck or face, it is an IMMEDIATE visit to an ophthalmologist. One could loose their vision.

I'm always comfortable referring people to the Mayo web site for more information so here it is.

Yep, since that's the federal guidelines.

But for ANY age, if you suspect shingles, do see your doc immediately.

            Thanks Lynn,
I read through the Mayo link you sent. I'm sending it to you my husband and boys. My boys will kid me about it, but hey, should I let them wait until they are 56 to hear about this?! I tell them, I'm preparing you for life!!

One of my sisters fell and broke her hip last week and had a partial hip replacement on the last day of the year. They found problems and took a biopsy and after many tests decided she has multiple myeloma. She's home now recovering and goes back next week to discuss what her options are. Please pray that she and the doctors will make the best choices in her treatment. I live too far away to be of any help but she has a daughter who can move in with her and other family close by that will be able to help with her care.

Annis, Praying for your sister and her recovery. I just read of a new treatment protocol for MM--I'm sorry I don't remember where, but should be readily available on the 'Net. Praying for your heart, too.

I've been away from TQS since January 2009. I was diagnosed with stage 4 uterine cancer. I was cancer free for 6 years and 1 month, only to be told it had metastized in both my lungs and lymph nodes. I was given 13 months to live. I has been 12 months now and I am still undergoing chemotherapy and the tumors are shrinking. I would appreciate any prayers. I am doing well but for some reason now that I am getting closer to that 13 month date I am very stressed. I know it was only an estimate and the Good Lord is with me always but somehow even though I cannot control any of it, I am still anxious. I am due for another CT scan in a couple of weeks. Prayers for complete healing ( if it is His will), peace in my heart and skill of my doctors would be greatly appreciated. Also may I add that my very loving and patient husband could use a few as well.
                            Thank you in advance, Sylvia

Wanted to let you all know that I had asked for prayers for Jason a couple of months ago. (I started looking back for the original post and couldn't find it.) His aunt told me today that he is in remission. Thanks for all your prayers.
