Dog gone it! I received a call today that one of my quilting students has breast cancer. I can't tell you how much this frustrates me. I am so sick of this horrible disease. Please pray for Ginger. Thanks ladies.

Ritzy, I share your feelings of frustration about cancer. Seems like everytime I turn around someone else near and dear has been diagnosed with some form of that horrible illness. A man in my connect group at church was just diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer and is undergoing extensive surgery this upcoming week that will involve removing tonsils, adenoids, a portion of his palate, a portion of his tongue, etc. To my knowledge he has no history of any of the bad habits that can bring this type of cancer on. He also has scleroderma, rare for men, which makes it even more serious. They say radiation would kill him for sure and surgery is his only chance. He has a precious wife and two college age daughters. If you think of them, prayers are appreciated.
Continuing to pray for Beccah and will add Ginger to the list.

The statistics say that one in two men will be diagnosed with some form of cancer in a his life time. With women it is one in three. One in four men will die of cancer and one in five women will die of cancer. And, I still don't know what the heck cancer really is? Or how does one person get it and not another one? How does someone like my mother who smoked for many years live to be 92 (but died of bladder cancer) and someone like eyeonquilts' church friend who didn't smoke, get to stage 4? This is such a puzzling disease, and I feel Ritzy's frustation! It's like it is just out there waiting for us, and one day ZAP one of every 2 or 3 of you reading this will be diagnosed with cancer. What the heck is causing this? What can we do about it? Frustration, frustration, FRUSTRATION! I'm done venting! But, still frustrated!

Well here I go again asking for prayers for Jason. He is doing very poor and is in a mental health facility in Phily. We have spoken to him several times and the docs have changed his medication. I know he is lonely and miserable and will be getting a medical discharge sometime this year and will come home. I am sorry to ask again. I do feel that this will be a problem for him all his life and he will learn to manage and take care of himself. Pray for a speedy discharge and his wellbeing.

ritzy, I have been praying and thinking of Beccah.

                        Thanks all of you, Sharon

Sharon, don't apologize. That is why this thread is here. For us to share our burdens so we don't become overwhelmed. I will put him back on my prayer list.

Please pray for drj2athome (Janet). She has a mole that has changed colors and is having it checked today. She has asked for prayer that it is not cancerous.
