Ritzy I'm so sorry for this family. I would just like to repeat what Judy in AZ said. Also please know that I will be praying for your daughter and the other fire fighters who must deal with this also.

Ritzy my prayers are with your daughter and all the fire fighters. My continued prayers go out to all.

I have a friend, Nina, who was just diagnosed with throat cancer....she starts chemo this week and would appreciate all prayers. Prayers coming from all around the world are amazingly powerful.

Ladies I know some of you were already praying for my Mom thru her Bone Marrow Transplant, so you also know why I haven't been on the board in a while, so what a JOY to come on today and find this thread at the top of "posts since last visit" (I had to print the list b/c I know I'll never get thru them all today) So here's an update: The transplant was on the 15th, for her it was just like rec'vg a blood transfusion (thought of you Ann, plus my Mom's name is Anne) but for my brother, the donor, it was a lot more uncomfortable. They expected to have to "go in" about 6 times to harvest the marrow from his hip bones but it took 11 times to get enough, so he was hurtin'!!-- but it doing ok now, his wife's in med school so it's nice to have a Dr. in the house! Anyway, Mom now goes in to Johns Hopkins daily for blood tests & infusions of whatever she's low on (potassium, magnesium, platelets, whatever) but besides feeling weak & sometimes a bit nauseous, no signs yet of rejection. This will continue for 2-3 months, every day.
But next Monday, my Dad goes in for a hip replacement! He's in good health otherwise, but I'm afraid he won't be as easy a patient as my Mom is! He's quite stubborn, and I will be his nurse here (my other local sister is in Baltimore w/ my Mom, my sis in NJ is her back-up, my brother is coming down here from CT to help w/ Pop when I get a much anticipated vacation mid-August!)
So keep those prayers coming, we all believe in the power of prayer, and I will add these new ones to my list.
And about the baby who died, sometimes my prayers are just that God will do the right thing--far be it from me to know what that is, but hard as this will be for them, it may be easier than the alternative. Ritzy I know you have great faith and that will help your daughter and her co-workers thru their challenges as well.
Love and thanks to all, Florence

Florence, I'll add your Dad and pray that your Mom continues to do well. Isn't it great to have family to share the care with? Towards the end of my Mom's life she mentioned how lucky she was to have seven daughters so she had the whole week covered. It worked well for us too. Wonder how she planned that.
I'm so glad we have this prayer line going. Coming from two big families my husband and I have a big prayer network to go to in rough times but this is just amazing to think of how many people from all over praying for someone.

Judy I'm adding your friend too.

I had good news yesterday. My doctor said I'm fine--no cancer--and that the four doctors felt they should just leave what they felt to be a vascular mass alone. I won't even need to take hormones! Oh, happy day!!! I had trouble taking birth control pills when I was young, so I was concerned with this. I'm still a little sore, but on the mend every day. Thank you everyone for your prayers. You are all in my prayers, too.

Judy, I am so happy for you! And I'm PTL along with you.

Ritzy, I am lifting all who are involved in the death of that wee little one up in prayer. What a tragedy from "this side," yet we know she is in the BEST place possible.

I continue to pray for all the rest on the list.

I check this every morning, too, and pray for all the needs here. I just wanted to share a praise! My son & his wife live near La Grande, OR and are building a home. This week they got an acceptable offer on the house they are selling and the deal should close the end of August. When I went to tell my husband their good news, I started crying. I felt so silly - it's not such a big deal compared to many of the needs on this list, but sometimes I am just overwhelmed when God answers prayers. God is so good!

Sherry, I know why you cried! God is interested in every facet of our lives and it amazes me, too, when He moves and answers "yes" to what some might perceive to be trivial. But we know we can bring EVERYTHING to Him, not just health concerns! I'm really glad for the sale of your son's house (in this market, you know something else had to be at work besides realtors!). So I'm PTL along with you. This past year my DH and I are learning to just WAIT on Him, as often our plans have had to be held loosely. Still waiting to travel back to Arkansas. Still facing the x-ray screening, Aug. 4.

Always glad to hear good news, Sherry. And I find I cry at anything anymore. Happy, sad or so proud it doesn't take much. So embarrassing.
