Pimms? it certainly looks like the weather for it. Or peach Bellini's could be good.

I am supposed to be tidying up my sewing room ready to move the sewing table and etc & etc & etc away from the windows, as we are getting new window frames installed starting within the next few days and I am just starting a cold too - sore throat and runny nose - yuck. Neither of which is going to be a pretty sight...

Good thing it's a virtual lounge at Luann's then. Hope you feel better soon and the weather stays fine for your windows.

Dear Geneva, when I have a creative block and my fabric, quilting etc seems dull and uninteresting I give myself a break. I look at my collection of art books for pleasure - not inspiration. I give myself permission to clear my fabric stash (it's difficult to do) I take some to the charity shop and some to my quilting class. I get quite immobilized if I have too much stash, as I then try to incorporate all the disparate fabrics into quilts and become despondent when it doesn't look right. Then without question my need to quilt (and all that goes with it) returns, it can be inspired by a painting, literature or a piece of music but it generally happens when I'm not seeking inspiration. It's not a nice feeling when you have a creative block but your magic will return.

Thank you everyone. I have taken your advice to heart and am actually doing Jen's row in an unusual way, thanks to you all! I am also looking at art books, quilt books/magazines and I'm reading an unrelated story. And I'm keeping an eye out for sale kit to buy since Nancy gave me permission to do so! B)

Say, since my sweetie and I were chosen as the official mojito makers while on our recent trip to Cuba, I'll bring the Yerba Buena, Bitters, lime juice, soda water and Cuban RUM. I'm sure LuAnn will furnish the ice. (It might melt on the plane. hmy: )

          take care, Geneva

When Cathy said, wow, I guess Luann really wants us to come,,, I had no idea that my picture of the porch went up 4 times! My iPad was acting up and on a normal day, I just hit the submit button once more, it posts, and then tells me that it's ignoring the duplicate. Obviously, this time it decided to do something entirely different.

                    and then this happens,,,

It splits my post up into more than one! Oh me oh my, what a lot of boo whooey!

I'm just glad you are all very understanding people about such things.

I really would enjoy hosting a retreat in my area. I know that travel expenses are way too high for most of us to entertain the idea. But, if any of you are coming to the Charleston area on vacation, I'd enjoy a meetup. There are a lot of very interesting sites down here and it's very rich with history, as my hubby would say. I'll leave you with a little eye candy of the area.

And there's the Angel Oak tree that is believed to be 1400+ years old that makes this tree look pretty young!

Pretty tree Lu Ann! I'd love to come and do some dyeing/painting/ice dyeing! Haven't started yet this year, as we just got back to Montana, but seeing the shirts you did for the girls is inspiration to get started!!! Our son lives in Ma. and the next trip hubby and I drive (not fly)we want to take a road trip down the whole east coast. Would be awesome to meet up!

you can use this to cover up with!
As long as you get here before I get it up on a wall!

Just finished the binding a few minutes ago. It's on it's way to show 'n tell tonight!

The sewing room is at sixes and sevens, the guest bed won't bed found for I don't know how long, BUT I do have easy access to a corner that I don't normally get to, and I am going to give it a thorough going through to see what really needs keeping hopefully not all of it. My other delight is that I have found my Quilt museum panel that I was planning onusing as my centre panel of this years bom :woohoo: I now no longer have any excuse that I cannot start it apart from the fact that the sewing table is in nearly as deep a pile of 'cack' as the guest bed :side:
