Kurtel, Your quilt top is fantastic! Wish I'd thought of that.

Love your quilt and the idea of the rick rack.

Kurtel, how clever to use rick rack - love your colors too!

Helen W - I agree with you and ordered some Amodex last night. They had wipes as well. Thank you Dusty#2468 for that information. I have used a dry erase marker by mistake after I was practicing my free-motion on a white board and just went to the quilt that was on my longarm frame and marked what I wanted to quilt with the same marker. Luckily it was a small design before I realized what I had done. It took a lot of work but I finally got it out. I tried every solution mentioned on the internet. Don’t know what finally worked but maybe just a combination of all of it. It was a red marker on white material so I want to be prepared if it ever happens again. Stuff happens even when you are careful.

Thanks HelenW. I need all the help I can get. I might try various ideas on a separate piece of the same white fabric before trying anything on the quilt. I also thought of cutting a new piece of fabric and butting it up to my appliques & the binding. Would beat taking the binding off. This is a project for after Christmas.

I had planned to do the holiday quilt but didn’t want to make that many half square triangles. When I printed the pattern I saw last years with the Christmas light string. This is my version

My Christmas tree is finished. My fur babies leave this one alone. The holiday flower blocks will be turned into pillows for friends, starting this afternoon. I WILL make the holiday quilt, later!

I finished my version of the Holiday Quilt with full stars and am very happy with the way it turned out. I don't have the blanket stitch on my older Bernina so I like to very closely stitch at the edge of the template pieces and it seems to hold everything nicely. Your tip on placing the vine was a great help!
Thanks, Alex for this great pattern!

Thank you Alex, without your encouragement I would not have made this quit.
My quilt depicts the seasons of the year with each Friendship Star and has 2020, a heart and a star in the quilting. It is bordered in a thin stripe of red, the color of hope and courage. The spring has muted colors, nothing being certain with the world wide spread of the Covid 19 virus, coronavirus disease 2019. Summer's bright colors and red as hope appears as well as anger and violence. Autumn turns yellow and orange, caution and arrogance but still red of hope and courage. Winter is just green and red with the knowledge that a vaccine is coming, green being the color of renewal and growth. Only years from now will we begin to understand what this year of closed businesses and schools has cause. The devastation is more than just the loss of loved one and the death count.
There will be three labels on my quilt, one of the meaning and my feelings, another with the facts of the virus, the third highlights of the election and news stories, including how officials have broken their own rules.

Just starting my quilting. I draw a little with frixion pen, stitch a little. I outline stitch the applique with white to match the background. the holly leaves in the star background are a faint green thread. The meandering in the white background is a faint blue. The quilting shows but not too much. HelenW
