Start posting under this thread and when you show you have a following and people interested in your topic then you can ask TQS to add a thread somewhere. This is what I did when I started two different threads which are now permanent parts of the forum. Let the people at ARJJ know that you are serious and they will listen. See you in the forum. Ann

I've been missing things on TQS for a while but I would be really interested in a UK section. There are certainly enough members to make it worthwhile. Maggi

I guess one solution would be to have a new section in the forum called "International", and then groups from various non-US countries could ask to have their own forum under that section. We'd kick off with "UK", and see what other countries want to be represented.

Yes ladies, listen to ann, she knows how everything works as she has lots of experience on the quilt show, so I suppose we need to post lots of times and then they will listen to us.

No problem. With the weekend coming up I can haunt the forum.

I'm all for a UK thread on the forum that way we will be able to post shopping tips etc. without needing a 'translation' There are times when products are discussed and they are not available outside the USA without a ruinous shipping and import/vat cost added.

We do have news, we're just waiting confirmation from the powers that be.

Well, I have just hit one of those "UK Only" questions. A friend asked me if it's possible to get any Harry Potter fabrics. I showed her on the computer what's available in the US, and she would love to get her hands on a large panel that features young Harry casting a spell. I have never see it in a shop here, and a search limited to the UK has come up with nothing. So, here is my questions: Has anybody seen this panel in any of the UK shops??

Well I've looked and looked and looked over here on line and all I came up with was a rather cartoonish one on eBay that was hugely expensive with astronomical postage!

I'm sure we can keep our eyes peeled at Malvern next week.

Yes, I spotted the one offered on ebay, but I'm sure this friend would not be willing to sell her first-born in order to get that.

And here is a question for all Malvern visitors: How many quilts based on Ricky's or Alex's designs will you see??

And will anybody sell Alex's new line "Whisperings"? How about going to every fabric stall, ask for it, and then express extreme disappointment, seeing that you wanted a yard of every fabric in the range, plus 4 yards for a backing.....

I won't be able to get to Malvern this year, but I have discovered a tasty alternative to buying a 'ruby beholder' All you need to do is buy a box of Quality Street, and lo and behold you have several pieces of red acetate, once you have disposed of the contents and is also easily replaceable should you lose it/them.

LOL, but isn't a ruby beholder a lot cheaper than a tin of quality street????? and lets face it ladies, its bad enough having a hobby that means you sit on your rear for hours, without eating a tin of toffees as well!!!!
Lynn in very wet cheddar!
