From the home page click on "THE FORUM" on the purple bar's drop-down menu. Then if you will click (on the right side of the board index page) where it says "mark forums read" you will start with a clean slate. After that, when you return to the forum board index and want to check the new forum entries, just click (on the left side of the board index page) where it says "view new posts", everything that has been posted since your last visit will be listed. If you haven't read the last entry, there will be a little red icon to the left of the topic. If you click on that icon you will be taken to the first entry that you have not yet read.

You can also "bookmark" the Forum page and come directly here without even going through the Daily Blog/Home pages.

It's really simple to keep track of all the forum topics like that! Welcome to TQS!!!

Hi All I'm Cathy , Sewrite now and have been a member here since 2007 but like so many others went to Quilts Your Way before Alex and Tim set up this quilters wonderland.

Lyn I used the link Debbie set up for us over at QYW and it brought me directly to the QYW Playground. After I signed in just added it to my favorites and am using it for now. I also sign in thru the Quilt Show and once we're used to the beautiful artwork we'll probably start noticing all the other wonderful things.

Alex , thanks so much for setting up the little playground for us till we settle in. It'll be a great place to finish off some of the swaps etc. we still have going on. Its the best of both worlds , can find each other with ease and meanwhile meet and greet the cool folks over here.

QYW isn't completely down yet so some odf us may still be jumping back and forth finishing off some last minute business.

THANK YOU All for the wonderfull Welcome you've extended to us. We're a fairly large group to come from such a small forum, nothing like your numbers but I personally can't wait to get settled in .

        L and H
        Cathy

            Hi,

I am Kathy and my board name on QYW since 2005 was kathyqu1lts - as it is here. It has the number "1" in it because someone had already taken kathyquilts on QYW.

I am married to a full-time farmer, am the mother of one son and three daughters ranging in age from 25 to 18. Two are out on their own, one is in college and the last is a senior in high school. I work two part-time jobs, do the bookwork for the farm, take care of the house and yard and am the gopher for the farm when I get out of work if need be.

I started my first quilt - Eleanor Burns' Log Cabin in a Day - in 1985 when pregnant with my first child and put it away after receiving criticism on color choices from my older sister. :? But I DID finish it by making it into two twin size quilts for my kids' beds -- 10 years later! And I LOVE those quilts to this day! Been quilting since, slowly but steadily, and will have to live a long time to get all my UFO's done, I think!

I play golf (but not seriously so don't ask my scores!), I like to watch NASCAR, hockey and pretty much any sport to some degree. I like to travel for fun, love history and enjoy quilt retreats or shows as well as taking a class to try/learn something new now and then.

It's good to see so many fellow quilters from QYW here and hope all the rest find their way here, too!

            Kathy

              Hello!

I'm BarbCA from the QYW forum. I too was on the AAQ MB. I've been quilting since 1980 - serioulsy the past 15 years.

Married 47 years, mother of two daughters and one son. Grandmother to four granddaughers and one grandson. Looking forward to retiring later this year!

Thanks to all for the warm welcome and thanks again to Alex and Debbie for making this site possible.

Marge, I will try to remember that you are now crisp lol! Yes QYW has been a tremendous haven for us, but we can do that here too. It was, after all, only the sum of all our parts.

I am hoping there might be some way to use the avatars we had over there for easier recognition, but I cannot even access my user control panel there to retrieve mine.

Lovely to see so many familiar faces here already!

Hi, everyone. I was "quiltlover" at QYW and will carry that over to this message board. Have started a new blog (not one to be left out) and you can visit me at http://iquiltforfun.blogspot.com/.

I enjoyed QYW and found everyone helpful and knowledgeable -- I'm sure we'll find the same here -- just a larger community!

Have a good rest of the weekend!

Hi, I'm Karen from QYW as iwritedocs. I've been a member here since it started but haven't been here much either lately. Glad we are all in one place now.

I've been seriously quilting for six years now and have way more projects started than I will ever finish it seems. You can see what I'm up to at my quilting blog: http://www.stitchingcircle.com I try to post regularly but sometimes life just gets in the way.

I'm happy to see all my friends for QYW signing up and posting.

Hi and my name is Mary Noel. I too am coming from Quilts Your Way and before that Alex Anderson's board. I have always enjoyed reading about what others are doing and what is happening in their life. I quilt as much as I can get around too. I am a slow quilter so you can count on one hand how much my normal would be for a year. I would much rather make some quilts. One they get done and two I use it to learn new skills. I do not post my picture anywhere. Just don't like it. And so far I don't know how to post pictures. I think I might not be here then very often because I am not going to do the member forum which is like a chat? But it is an interesting place. So we shall see and I am glad to meet you all.
