 Eek  Looking a little scary for the Gulf Coast. DH and I work at the IP casino. If an evacuation is ordered he has to stay at work-it's in his job description. They'll give him a room in the hotel. (The hotel that survived Katrina). Hopefully, me and the two younger boys can stay there with him. The gaming commission will shut down the casinos when the storm is 72 hours from landfall. It really isn't time to worry yet...I need to wait another day or two before I start to freak out. However...I think I'll avoid the rush and start now!!! We have all the supplies we need though. Am I rambling on? Sorry. Katrina is still so fresh down here. So many people still haven't recovered. We just aren't ready for another storm. Holy crap.

Sherry, how close are you to the coast? Are you on high ground? What kind of things do you take with you when you evacuate? Here in AZ we've been having a little rain from Tropical Storm Julio that comes up from Baja. Stay safe. Judy in AZ

Judy-I'm right on the coast. We didn't get any flooding from Katrina so I don't worry about water...the wind and flying debris and tornadoes are concerns. When we evacuate we take what we'll need while we're gone plus what we might not have when we get back. I have one bag that I use for important papers such as birth certificates, insurance papers, car titles, bank info, monthly bill info. Cell phone chargers, cameras, laptops. Clothes, toiletries. Like packing for a vacation only not near as fun.
I guess we'll know tomorrow if we'll have to evacuate. Might not sleep much tonight!

Make sure you store some foods in today,if the storm hits you could be stuck for 48 hours or longer, They may not even let you leave the area. In a bad storm planes will not fly in,they all leave the area. ((Stay Safe.)) update and Let us know how things are going. Thoughts and prayers are with you everyone.

Thanx so very much y'all. It really means alot having your prayers and support. We do have a goodly amount of supplies-food, water, flashlights & batteries, a generator, a grill, and most importantly-a camp type coffee pot! We've got the stuff we need, we just got to get through it. I'm sure everything will be okay one way or the other. The Lord watched over my family before and will continue to do so. I'm sure.
                            Love y'all
