Rosemary, as one might say on your side of the pond - Ab Fab! Never cease to be amazed at the ingenuity of quilters. Thanks for sharing. I'll have to come up with a project to try it out.

Well today was a complete bust. Waved goodbye to Izzy at about 10:15am (for a day out with a friend) and thought I would get on with quilting WotRott. After stitching half the long seams in one direction I got it out from the machine, and checked the back. Ugg! Did a complete pigs ear of a job when I pin basted it first time around, so I spent the entire afternoon frogging what I had done in 50 mins  and then crawling about the floor re-basting it. Not fun!

On a happier note I finally got a picky of the back of Izzy's goth jacket

          Please excuse background

Rosemary I am so impressed with Izzy's jacket... the back is stunning! Izzy is a very lucky girl getting to own such unique couture garments.

The only trouble is, that she feels completely overdressed in the full outfit (and she thinks it make her bum look big hmy: - it's a bustle, it is supposed too :P  ). I guess we will have to go to Whitby Goth Weekend for her to not feel overdressed.

Sorry you ran into those quilting troubles! I hate it when that happens. The back of Izzy's outfit looks great!!

Izzy's jacket looks wonderful. Sorry for the quilting disaster. I feel for you! It goes with the territory I am sorry to say!

Just having a whine. Yesterday was also Mothering Sunday and it didn't feel very special this year.

Normal service will be resumed shortly.

So very sorry Rosemary, hope you poured yourself a glass of wine with that whine. Um, what was your dd thinking? You are definitely worthy of some very special attention after making that outfit for her.

                        Hugs,

Mother's Day. I think that is a very tough one to get right. Most of the time it's way over the top celebrating some sort of saint that I could never hope to be; therefore, succeeding in making me feel guilty for missing the mark. All of us who enjoy making a fuss over our loved ones liked to be fussed over in the same way and when it doesn't happen it can be very disappointing.

I just finished my first lap-quilt on Heidi (Bernina 750QE) and thought you might like to see it. This quilt is called 'Orphan'. It was made from orphan blocks from various classes and notions I took that didn't work out. In the end it has worked out just fine I think. The back was made from a panel I got at Ikea in the €1 bin. I had to piece it together to make it wide enough, but you can hardly see the joins. I have washed and tumbled it dry and it's lovely and soft and crinkly. I will be giving this to my mother for her birthday. This winter she has needed something to throw over her legs on the coldest days, of which we have had too many. Lovely and warm and sunny today though.

BTW Rosemary, I used Lilian's method for drawing the feathers with a 1" circle and it worked really well. Thanks for that. :cheer:
