Lorra, it is more of an inspired by but yes it does look late Victorian. Actually it started off as a tiered skirt after the style of Lolita dresses (rolls eyes) that Izzy fancied, dressed up to goth (for goth read black conspicuous consumption, where more is, well..... more). And then the jacket was inspired by the one I linked you to in the other post, but I started with a 1940 repro Jacket pattern, and altered it below the waistline to suit.

Wow, Rosemary! I'm blown away by Izzy's outfit! It's unbelievably beautiful! I love the spider webs on the fabric. And Izzy is looking so grown up! Where has the time gone? She looks even more grown up than the last picture was saw of her and I swear that wasn't more than a couple of months ago! She is certainly turning into a beautiful young lady!!

She looks beautiful. Take the rear view next time she wears it. Nice work, Mom!

What a beautiful dress on a gorgeous daughter. How wonderful that she will wear her mum's creation at this age! You must be having such a great time with her. I'm admiring your couture skills, too.

fabulous outfit Rosemary. Your talents know no bounds! Lucky Izzy to have a mom who can make such wonderful things.

Lois you gave me a fright suggesting that it was almost time for the next CW challenge, phew, not until the 1st April. I really am planning on doing something for that one. In fact I even went back and looked at all the segments with Libby on TQS to remind myself of everything. I am looking forward to this challenge.

Thank you, Rita. I don't know how I got it in my head that the date was March 1. What a relief!

Thanks for the picture Rosemary. I think it is amazing. Compared to the fashion of today it is so beautiful, spider webs and all. I guess we are more comfortable today, but not stylish at all.

Yep, scary I know, but now we can see 'eye to eye' - well physically at least  unless one of us is wearing heels :P

I have been a bit quiet on the forum lately because I have been really busy and in my spare time I have been busy making a wedding quilt for one of my nieces. I was given EQ7 for Christmas this year by my DH and on the 1st of January I began learning how to use it. It has taken me 6 weeks to design, piece and quilt this quilt but I am very pleased with it. The centre appliqué medallion and the corner blocks were from the EQ library as were most of the blocks. The birds inside the heart were taken from a quilting design in Pepper Cory's book Quilting From the Amish. My niece loves purple (and I am really hoping she doesn't hate yellow  ). The quilting designs are mostly from my head. :woohoo: I used Isacord white thread in the white areas, Superior Highlights in the purple areas and in the bobbins (all 24 of them) and Superior Rainbows thread in the border. Now I just have to put the binding on, make a label and its ready for her wedding in April. Then I have to start one for the next niece who is getting married in December.

                          This is just the top

When I have the binding done I will take a full size photo of the whole thing.
Time to start thinking about the 'inspired by Libby' quilt.

Wow, Rita, it's beautiful and bright! I like the colours, and, like Marilyn said, the quilting is an inspiration. What/how do you ark the quilt for quilting? Bravo!
