I've been using Ricky's method of taming threads by cutting strips of press and seal and I've no more wild threads but don't know if it would work with keeping bobbins, I haven't enough bobbins to keep them.

      That does it. inch:

I am sure that it was time that I was locked up in the 'funny farm' :silly: :side: . I've started my next piece of piecing. :cheer: 'So what' - you say

Bargello style - 'not a problem', you say.

With 1/2" strip piecing - 'bit on the small side for most of us, but hey not impossible', you say.

but here is the kicker  , it is 1/2" x 1/8" per piece hmy:  - 'Yep, she's bonkers conkers(or description of your choice), and it is time to send for the men in white coats' you say.

And I am enjoying it so far :cheer: :P :woohoo:

Ok, go get your magnifiers - a small taster...
This was the first start, I just got plain fabrics, thinking that patterns were rather redundant at this scale. Unfortunately the 'mid' purple was more of a dark purple, just a different shade and the jump between them and the light was too much.

This is the second start, and I am much happier with the colours, although the mid and light purple shades are darker than I would really wish.

The main problem with this I am finding, is having enough cut squares for a leaders and enders project to run alongside it :side: The bad news is that I don't have a clue of how to quilt it yet.
And the good news is that it will fit into the FoQ miniatures category of less than 30 centimetres square (approx. 12") :woohoo: So provided it is finished in plenty of time I will probably be entering it. Just need to check the closing dates for entries.

                          Rosemary,

I can't decide which of the two samples you've shown I like best. They are both inspiring.

I think it's great. Looks like beadwork! As for quilting, I think I might try machine quilting with the stitches as long as the pieces are wide having every stitch begin in one ditch and end in the next. Choose a thread that would offer contrast. Just an idea, but it's the only thing I could think of. Onward!! Keep at it!

Rosemary, barking mad! But I will look forward to seeing in at FoQ if I can make it this year. :cheer: BTW Lea McComas is teaching a one day workshop and giving some lectures too at FoQ. Sshhhh, don't tell everybody because then there won't be any places left for me if I can become free to go.
