Do you have many Cathy? I empty the drinkers at night when it's really cold. Lifting ice in a cold wind is no fun brrrr

Wild and windy in Belper today, can't let the chickens loose or they'd be blown over to you :S

I found out about spelunking when my first son was studying Mining Engineering. Never heard it called potholing. In Montreal, we are infamous for our potholes, with news headlines reporting on them. One borough mayor included personally filling in any and all potholes if they became larger than "X". There is even an app that tells you where they are. This is a typical Montreal pothole:. It can be like doing ski slalom with you car on the streets. It's terribly embarrassing when you have visitors to the city. It is sometimes referred to as a `1st class city with 3rd world streets".

Terrie, we have pot holes here too. Mostly due to the freezing and thawing of the road surfaces. Or maybe from the moisture that is under the pavement.
Wendy, I am not sure how many we have. Probably about 20. We have a very small bantam hen that hatched two broods in late summer and early fall. That was 9 extra. My DH and DS butchered some when I was gone last week. We had an overabundance of roosters. We also have 3 guineas. The laying hens are is a separate house from the bantams. We keep a light on them to keep up the egg production. The dog sleeps in with the bantams, he's a great pyrenees. He protects them from the coyotes, hawks, and other dogs. Some of the hens sneak off to the barn and lay eggs there too. The cattle usually stay in the pasture, unless someone (my DBIL) forgets to shut the gate. And when that happens I am usually alone by the time I notice cows in the yard or garden. It is scary trying to get them all back in the pasture. So much for life on the farm.

Wow it's quite a picture you paint, what a contrast to my set up. I'd swap with you scary cows and all. Does your dog help you herd them?

So many people wanted something to replace the Loch Lomond Quilt Show but nothing ever could so this is the next best thing.

The Studio wanted my group Threadlines to demonstrate as Ruth is not well again but we have our Exhibition in June at Glasgow West End Festival and will be far too busy as there would be a lot of preparation to do but Irene and I will be going to see it.
