Just a note--the area where it looks like I didn't finish the cable is because there was suppose to be a bobble there and I didn't like it so I was going to do some hand embroidery there but my daughter claim the sweater and it didn't get done.

Love the sweater Ritzy! Can I put in an order for one?  Really beautiful work--did you say you were a new knitter? Does not look that way to me!

Nice job on the sweater Ritzy.

Renata--I am a pretty new knitter. I really learn a lot from Carol Feller, who designed the sweater and taught the class on craftsy. If I had known more I probably would have realized that the thing had too much stretch and used some other yarn. As it is, it will take me some time to make another. That one took about a year(that is when I wasn't making quilts and mug rugs).

Well, my compliments to you, Ritzy, beautifully made!

How great your daughter wanted it. It was when I made the boys a arran jumper that they declined my knitting.

Ritzy, your cable sweater looks great. It's a difficult pattern to make and especially in dark yarn.

I have Lois, Cathy, Nancy (rehak) and Maureen left on my mug rug list. Working slowly but steadily to get them done.

That looks beautiful Ritzy. I got Carol Feller's free class on Craftsy and it was very good. I am wondering what yarn you used? Here we would use aran weight wool. When I was young my mother used to knit aran jumpers with oiled wool. She liked it because the lanolin in the wool was kind to her hands and it knitted faster and smoother. I learned to knit the different cable stitches from watching her. For years here knitting aran jumpers and cardigans was a cottage industry where women made extra pin money by making them for the big companies who sold them abroad and to tourists. Now a lot of them are done by machine sadly. I have always loved knitting and really miss it (it's great to do while watching television) because it gives me tennis elbow really badly. :x

Knitting is my other love. Great job. Rita, when I get tennis elbow I give it a very long rest and then take it up again when the inflamation subsides. Ritzy, that sweater is quite an accomplishment and beautiful too.

I have Lorchen, Norma, and Charae on my mug rug list. Lorchen's is finished waiting to be mailed when I get the others done. I am done with the Chinese Whisper Quilt. I am done with travels. Hopefully, I'll soon be back in the mug rug business and then I will be wanting to add to my list. It's such a great way to develop new skills.
