Rita, Then " my ability met up with my aspirations" is the story of every quilt I've ever made and then that's the instance procrastination sets in. But when the clock's ticking there's no time for that. It happens to me more often when I am designing something on my own. During the process of making my CWQ its occurred to me how few quilts I had actually designed from beginning to end. More often than not when I make something it's taking someone else's pattern and add a few of my own ideas. Moving from the design on paper to construction on the CWQ was huge hurtle. Must say I was feeling not quite panic but was at "what were you thinking when you signed on here" for a while. When I got to the sewing I calmed down. Good luck, Wendy and Lorna.

Rosemary, I like your trip around the world idea. Nothing like creative inspiration for finding a way to clear the path to the cutting table. Let the archeological dig begin later!

I thought you would like to know that I received Nancy's quilt from Renata in the post today. There was also some beautiful batik in with it, thank you Renata it was much appreciated.

Lorna is on holiday at the moment and when she gets back she will send me Marilyn's quilt that Limbania has posted. That will be all the CW quilts from the USA when I receive it “Hallelujah”, well it is near Christmas    There are just labels and 100 words to get to me

                        Hey everyone,

I am behind on posting here. I did pick up Limbania's package from the post office on Monday. DH mailed it out to Maureen on Friday.

It's all coming together. Maureen must be getting quite a collection 8)

It's been very quiet on here and I've been beavering away and have my CW quilt pieced and ready for next stage. It really has been a case of the quilt starting off and transforming along the way as I find that my sketches don't translate when made full size and the colours are quite different to what I intended when I started. It's down to what looks best as you go along and fabrics dictating what goes with them and works rather than my initial vision. I've gone through several love it, hate it, what the heck do I do next stages.

It's been a real challenge putting it all together and working where you can only see one part of the quilt. I think this will get me into working bigger in future and leaving my comfortable max A5 size quilts and getting a design wall :lol but the cats would only see that as a challenge little monkeys .

Have I shown you this horror

They also steal pincushions, pieces of felt, quilt trimmings, batting and anything else that looks fun including pulling any quilts that they can reach off the wall

Does this mean Wendy, that I now have some interesting cat claw marks on my quilt? My cat, fortunately, does not do any of that. She just finds the quilt that I have folded and put away on top of the cupboard so that she can't lie on it....and lies on it! I didn't know how she was getting up there until I saw her take a leap from my cutting table!

I am so glad that you have got something you are happy with. Good luck with putting it all together now. It looks like you might be getting it to Lorna ahead of schedule too?

I have been very quiet because I am working away on Bonnie Hunter's mystery quilt Celtic Solstice. Ironically, for a quilt that was inspired by her trip to Ireland, I could not get a Tri-Recs ruler here. I had to order one but that will probably take until after Christmas to arrive and in the meantime Renata sent me a photo copy of hers and I was able to make up a template with plastic and use that instead. I am enjoying it more than I thought I would, what with not knowing if the colours I am using will ultimately work together, but I will trust that they will as I have decided on this occasion to go with the ones suggested. This weeks unit is a cute chevron that finishes at 3 1/2". Anybody else doing it?

No I've got strict instructions from Maureen not to post it. It'll take me ages to quilt all that and I need lots of thinking time. You can breathe Lorna

                              Your mystery quilt sounds fun

Rita, I just copied the intro and first 2 clues for that mystery quilt and am hoping I can find time to do it. Ever since Alex's Episode on scrappy quilts I am once again intrigued with piecing them. Never did a mystery quilt. It looks like fun. Been doing some "beginnings and enders" as I am working on other projects.
