Rosemary, It's time to get ready. I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Let's pray for no major glitches from here on out.

Double Eeeekkk! I am still working on C-Red handed, am visiting Lorna this weekend, going on holiday from 14th-21st and hope to be delivering C- Red handed on the 27th. Added to which have just spent the weekend searching for DD's bedroom carpet  The good news is we have found it 8) but for how long for is anybodies guess

I am not there yet but I must be planning differently than my original intention if facings are not considered bindings.
Lois, I thought it would be ok as facing do cover the edges but to make sure I have just been in touch with the LLQS and Ruth says that facings are fine they just didn't want raw edges as that would not look very nice on hung quilts. I hope that helps

Thanks for asking the question, Lois, and thanks for checking, Maureen, I had also assumed that facing was out. I had hoped to try out that new technique on this smaller project.

Good for you, Lois! Can't believe the Whispers are making their way back across the ocean...and so soon! I still have until next year I suppose.

I am hoping to make it to the show next year.

Can't wait to see you this weekend, Rosemary!

I have heard of raw edge applique, but not of raw edge hangings  I guess there will be some in the 'slash & burn' camp that think it is a cool, trendy and rebel thing to do. But for me, raw edges around the quilt sounds unfinished and a CBA (Can't Be Arsed) attitude

And to keep completely off topic (like we are supposed to here  ) DH said to remind you that Custard the Hamster will be coming too.

How did a hamster end up being called custard?

Nothing wrong with a raw edge hanging, it can be an important design element and effective.

According to Izzy he is a creamy custard colour (she doesn't remember when Birds custard was bright yellow) and she liked the name/word - when it comes to children naming their pets it is usually not really worth arguing   Besides do adults do any better? - like chickens called Dumpling....

No body has responded about going to Loch Loman in May. I am thinking about it. I was wondering what Maureen would say about how early it is necessary to make accomodations. Did I miss her answer. Just want to know how long I have to procrastinate making a decision.  ops:

I'm definitely going Lois I hope you are. Maureen was busy with her show and I don't think we've talked about it since.

Sorry I didn't reply to the trip. I'm hoping to go but am not yet completely committing. Thanks for asking the questions about lodging, etc! If I'm going, I'll need to make plans.
