Love your Dad's quilt Lottie, very modern. The fabric looks great. I am sure he will be so chuffed with it.

Love the Daddy quilt, Lotti. Isn't it just fun to make a quilt out of something different than thin cotton?

Terrific "modern quilt " ! That's the descriptive buzz word these days... tho we know we've been making
them all along !! I'm sure your folks will love it....crisp and clean !

Oh Wow! Thank (expletive of your choice) for that - it is all over for another year!!!!!!!!!
I swear their table manners are getting worse every year! And yes, they were at the top of their voices - even Izzy started complaining about the noise towards the end (she likes her peace & quite). The diet is competely busted today and I don't care - off to write up a fuller version on my blog.... once I have refilled my glass

Well done Rosemary, it sounds like it went well and there were no broken bones or teeth! Yes table manners seem to be a thing of the past, along with a few other manners as well My father was telling me about getting on a bus the other day and there was a woman with two young children sitting in the seats reserved for OAPs. He asked the children to move up so he could sit down before the bus started to move and the woman said "eff off, I paid for them kids to sit there, you're on the bus for free!" Charming isn't it. Gone are the days of mothers telling their children to stand so that an older person could sit down.

I am again, and again, surprised and astonished when I don't see people getting up to give their seat to the elderly, anyone older, pregnant women, women carrying small children or anyone with a physical handicap, walking on crutches, whatever... I don't know why I'm still so naive, but I still believe in the good in mankind... And every so often, I get a surprise that chivalry, manners and plain common sense are still here, albeit generally spread very thinly on the ground!
As I spend quite a bit of time with colleagues and visitors from all over the world, I must also say that many of the Arabic, African, Asian and Indian men could teach most of their western counterparts a lot about manners.

Happy anniversary, Limbania. So glad to hear that your white blood cell count is back up.

Rosemary, Sounds like Izzy had another wonderful birthday celebration. Tell her Happy Birthday from Roger and I.

                      Beautiful quilt, Lotti.

We just returned from the Isle of Wight. There was a lovely little fabric shop in Newport that I picked up a fat quarter at. Friday was miserably cold and windy, but dry. Saturday was surprisingly warm (compared to the day before). We had a great time sightseeing around the island.

I've not been to IOW for donkeys years. I seem to remember coloured sands and little glass jars.

Warmer here as well and sunny but still some snow by the walls. We went walking from Bakewell this morning it was wonderful and lots of little lambs in the fields. I've just had dinner and finished off a yummy Bakewell pudding 8)
