So glad you are back on the forum Limbania. As I mentioned to you before, I am so very, very impressed with the way you are coping with your illness and getting the quilt finished and sent to Nancy. As you can see, everyone else is as well.

I will be looking forward to your new thread when you get time.

Limbania, I am so glad to see you again. You have been in all of our prayers and thoughts. We are all very impressed that you were able to keep quilting and get your project done.

Nancy, good luck! Also impressed that you have a idea in mind so quickly. I fear that when I get my turn (sometime next year!!) that my mind will freeze up and no creative juices will flow.

Speaking of freezing, it turned very cold last night and is snowing here is East Anglia now. Nothing sticking yet, but we were planning a day in Oxford and we have scrapped those plans. So, darn, stuck here at home and will have to quilt. I am very excited that I finally finished the top of my Roseville Pottery needle turn BOM that I started back in 2003. I finally finished the blocks shortly after the 1st of the year. I sewed all of the blocks together and then had to do more applique. One of the cool things about this quilt is that the flowers and leaves overlap the blocks. Then I had to do a lot of hand embroidery of stamen, vines, stems, etc. But its layered now and I have outlined all of the applique and have started doing a grid pattern in the background. I am not sure what possessed me, but I am using a twin needle so the grid will be double lines. Looks great on the top of the quilt. I am trying to not care that the back has the zigzag that happens with the twin needle. I keep telling myself that it is a wall quilt and no one will really see the back. Definitely won't be one of those quilts where you hand to see the front and the back.

So as I watch the snow fall I am heading to the sewing room now to work on it more.

            Lorna

PS I love my house here with it's heated floors.

Not until I finish quilting it.

Go look on my profile. It's the 3rd one on my personal photos. Still incomplete. I dont remember when I posted that WIP. The middle empty block has more than 300 little pieces on it.

I go to bed...get up the next morning and what a great surprise! Limbania is back! So lovely to see you again Limbania and I love your new profile photo. You are amazing to have completed the CW quilt, well done. Love the photo of 'a quilt' what a great photo and just made for a quilt. I wonder will Wendy manage to get a chuck into her CW quilt somehow?

Lorna I look forward to seeing the completed quilt when you are finished. I looked at it on your profile and it's beautiful. It's a lot of applique isn't it. I am still avoiding completing the borders on my reels quilt because I got so bored with doing the blanket stitch on so many little bits of applique. I think i would have been happier doing needle-turn - I prefer hand stitching.

Wendy, I will show you the quilt as soon as I have made mine, okay?

Lorna, your Roseville Pottery quilt is gorgeous and I can imagine how attractive double-needle quilting would look but it would have never crossed my mind to do it. I look forward to seeing it when it is finished. In the meantime, enjoy your snow day in the sewing room!

Limbania, it's so nice to see you. You are an inspiration, and so glad to hear that quilting keep you going forward. Hope all continues to go well, and by all means take a look at the rug mug rats. At least it's entertaining.
