Wendy, Your friend was willing to have her father represented by a boat. You didn't mention how that part of the quilt was going. I am wondering that since you don't have photo of her mother that is working very well for you could there be another way to symbolize her. If Dad is a boat, who/what is she? Why don't you talk with your friend and try to figure out a way to represent her mother that could work for both of you. Hope you get it figured out. She's asked if I carry on with Charlie (dog) and the boat, I feel fine with that though I haven't done his facial features yet so that could go pear shaped.

I like the idea of the photo collage behind the dog but with printer AWOL and not much time, I'll keep it simple. Shall I show you dog so far

charlie is doing great - just try out the eyes in different ways - then stick them down when you´re perfectly satisfied.
