    Thanks, Rosemary!

Lois, at first I thought this was 'Storm at Sea' but then realized that it's not. I think it's a composite of lots of different elements. It's a very lovely quilt isn't it? Wish I had made it.

The photographer that supplied the photograph for the Chinese Whispers challenge has just started putting together a web site for her photographs. She has only just started so it is still very much a work in progress. THE photo might or might not be in it

I've just had a look at her landscape photos - and all I can say is that 'I'm glad I'm not number 1 on the list!' working from a quilt already made, as we have been experimenting with seems much easier.

Good luck with your designing muses, Maureen.

Maureen, I loved looking at the photos. Thanks for the link. I hope you enjoyed the retreat. I've been wondering, has your friend had her surgery? How is her husband doing? I am thinking of you and wishing you well. Take care!

Good for you, Lois, you little quilt is charming in every way.

Back from the retreat now. Finished sewing my sampler, now just to quilt it; and most of the spool/reel quilt done, I can't believe how fabulous it is. ( will post a pic when I get it from a friend's camera...) And looking at all the names and who made which one! I've saved all the names in a bag and will put them on the back. While working on it, many came over to ask and wonder about my patience at sewing all those little strips of fabric together! However, I told the truth  about our exchange and very many people were super interested in it. Thanks to all who participated. It is a treasure. Rosemary, Maureen, Lotti, and many internationals and even some fellow Canucks!

How glorious it is to have quilt retreats - three days of eye candy and ideas and chatting about quilts and, swapping patterns and fabrics bits,
and of course, other stuff.

Now, recharge and count the days to Houston!

You're going to be completely quilted out Terri, sounds like a great time you had.

Oh dear Maureen did you get the photo of bike antics? or the safetypins  Hope you're having fun with it

Kim is updating the site all the time as she is putting new photo on it. She has some fabulous photos.

I haven't been away yet Lois; we go on Monday, come back Thursday. I am really looking forward to it, as I have never been to a retreat before.

Yes, my friend has had her surgery. She is home now and has to wear a corset and can only lie down or stand but she is mostly dosing as she is still on very strong pain relief. Her husband is waiting to have a MRI to check if the cancer has got into his bones. I hope it hasn’t.

Glad to say that I didn't get any of those. Fun is not the word I would use at the moment - interesting maybe I have half of the top done but was rushing too fast today so not happy with the last piece I did and will have to unsew it tomorrow. It is really hard not to be able to discuss what I am doing with anyone as I have always found other peoples input helps.

Maureen I am glad your friend is through her surgery. I hope they don't find anything in the bones when her husband has his MRI. I had a look at Kim Phillips photography - beautiful photos. Good luck with it, I am sure you will come up with something wonderful. And enjoy that retreat.

Terri welcome back from your retreat. It sounds like you had a great time and got lots done. I can't wait to see your spools quilt - you have just reminded me that I should get back to mine. ops:

Maureen just think in a few weeks it'll be done and you can sit back and have a laugh as we all get stressed one by one. 'yeh been there'

That reminds me that I need to get on with the labels
So far I have got a picture of the world, & 'traced' it to lose lots of extra arrows & lines that were also on it.
I need to enlarge & crop it some more. Work out roughly where everyone is on this map & start working on fitting in the writing needed. Does anyone have any preference over font type for the lettering? Please have a look at fonts and let me know, my personal favourite for fancy things is 'Blackadder' but I am open to suggestions.....
Also how about colours - I had originally wondered about black & sepia, like an old fashioned chart, it is only this colour because it is what the original picture was in.
