 I've been copying what interested me most into my own recipe file from the start so I knew what to look for. But wanted to post them with the correct quote info...
And it's not that you added more recipes than anyone Rita, but that they've been my favorites, especially with memories of yummy food on great vacations - so please keep them coming.

      Lotti,
WOW! I guess.. Lotti you are amazingly FAST! Is your nick name "getter' done"?
I can't believe how fast you did that... You must be a computer wiz...
I am totally "AMAZED" at how fast you did that...

If we do another exchange I'm game for half square triangles, to make whatever you want to with them. I am interested in batiks.

Rita my friend LOVED your Irish bread, and the extra one I gave to another older sweet neighbor lady, She was shocked to get it and I think on this cold rainy day she was very happy to get it, did I tell you it was still warm when I put it in her hand?... I love that your recipe make 2 breads. Another hit!

Thanks a lot for the new thread Lotti 8) , that will make things a lot easier for everyone - me included  As you say keep the banter off of that thread, so that the recipes are unimpeded.

Now if only we could add a napkin for wiping the drool & sticky off the keyboards as well

Those will be lovely batiks when they come out this summer. She has a block of the month for a beautiful album quilt. What a clever woman she is.

Man I cant believe how easy those spools went together and how perfectly the border fit.... I got my top all put together today and almost finished binding my Olivia quilt. I even mended a neighbors britches for him... Church Sunday so he will be happy to have them to wear... I think it will quilt up very nicley but I wanted to ask you girls do you button hole stitch around the applique before you sandwich and quilt, or after it is sandwiched while you are quilting it? I have never done border applique before..I forgot to take the camera to the studio but will take a photo tomorrow and post it. I love it. Everyones blocks look so good! And it is a very nice size.
Bren ... Beautiful weather today in SD---almost done calving only about 75 or 80 left.

Please look it over good for me and tell me if I need to move a color or if I am missing anything before I start to quilt it ok? Thanks in advance! Will post photo tomorrow...

Crikey Mikey! nearly ready for quilting1  Steps back in a cowpat! - something my family used to say when we were amazed, more usually it is 'steps back in amazement', but after camping in fields, where the previous occupants were cows.... you get the idea, I'm sure

Still it is good to hear that they go together easily

Way to go, Bren! Can't wait to see your pictures!

You can actually do the buttonhole embellishment either way, but if you wait until after the quilt is sandwiched the buttonhole stitches will show on the back.
Because of that, most people do the buttonhole before it's sandwiched. In fact, it's really easier if you do it before you add the borders to the quilt!
So, if you haven't attached the borders yet, you might want to do the buttonhole stitching first so there is less bulk to manage.
That holds true for whether you are doing it by hand or machine.
Of course, if you already have the borders attached you can either just go ahead with it, or consider taking the borders off for the embellishment.

Looks like you are going to pip us all to the post Bren - how incredible to have got that far already! I am waiting to get mine before I even decide on the background fabric. I would also do as Margo suggests. I usually do all blanket stitch before attaching the borders as it's easier to get around the pieces on the machine. I think that if you do them after you have added the batting and backing it will make it very heavy work. Please post a photo so that we can all drool.
