Hadn't had a chance to check my mail this week until today. Just picked up 4 packages! I'll let you know whose packages after I get home from work this evening.

Great Lorna! Can you tell from the postmarks when they were mailed so we will have some idea of the real time it takes them to get to you???

Just back from vacation, but have been keeping up daily with the posts. What fun this exchange is turning out to be. I hope to mail my spools/birdhouses/jam jars tomorrow or Saturday. Margo, I tried your starch recipe and it worked great. Love the colors so far and the names sound luscious. Glad it's lunchtime - YUM.

Here is another suggestion - how about a stripy lone star centre

I admit I cheated a bit, I copied 4 reels onto paper and had a play.

            1. measure in 1/4" from top left hand corner,

            2. cut at a 45 degree angle

              Interesting, Rosemary.

                3. move the left hand triangle to the right hand end and stitch together with a 1/4" seam.
                4. measure 'b', then mark 'a' & 'c' to match, trim down

I found b to measure 4" and the amount I was removing was about 5/8" wide.

If you don't fancy the reels or bird houses or jam jars that is

Rosemary you are amazing. I wish my mind worked like that. All I ever seem to do is follow a pattern. Maybe one day.......

Just found out that one of the places here that does longarm quilting is having 25% off quilting services thru Jan 31st. Wonder if I can finish up any of the UFO's that I have by Tuesday.

GO! for it, Teresa! There will always be other UFO's but maybe not another sale like that!

I have one done that I call my ugly kiwi quilt that I will take - been done for a while just don't like how it turned out. Then hopefully get 2 others done since they are both kind of close to being done. Who needs sleep any ways.

I've received packages from Margo, Sue Wildt, Bev Cox, and Brenda Hofeldt. From post mark to today it was 5-7 days. But like I said I hadn't made it to the post office earlier this week so they may or may not have been sitting.

                          Now to start the sorting!

Make sure to post your finished quilts on your profile. What you call ugly, some one else may call awesome!

(Yeh, I'm talking to myself too ops: )

                              ANY VOLUNTEERS????
That's something I would enjoy doing if no one more qualified volunteers. Give me about 6 months to think about it. I have to quit getting sidetracked and get some work done. And I would like to see how Carol is doing hers on the HST exchange. And I reserve the right to change my mind. I vote for waiting a year and including some quilts in it too. I'm looking forward to seeing all of the different style blocks these reels make. Everyone would have to contribute their own recipes. Cooking is not on my to do list much lately.

Annis, I love the idea of waiting until we have some finished quilts to include and really hope you can work this out with your schedule.
Maybe some others can volunteer to help you gather/sort the photos and recipes???
