Looking good there Jan. Once you have sewing knowledge in one style of work it is amazing how much of it relates to another, and just the pure practice on your sewing machine for quilting & piecing will help your clothes sewing immensely (& vice versa  )

Thanks, Lois! I did have fun today even though my teacher was delayed coming from quilt market at Houston. She arrived at 3 pm instead of 9 am. We made the best of it and she taught from 3-9pm. It was Annie Smith who has a nice book on applique and who does a podcast called the Quilting Stash or something like that.

So sorry you didn't get to go to your classes at Houston!

I had a glass of wine with my take out dinner at the hotel and learned that it makes the applique process harder if you aren't used to it. I think I drank it a little too fast. Oh well, at least It wore off before I drove home. My LQS has a 'ladies night out" and they serve wine, which I understand probably helps sell more fabric. But it's nice and they serve food too. Lol I shouldn't mix an iron and fusibles with wine and expect not to get it on the iron and on the fabric where it's not supposed to be. Actually I do that totally sober too. (I had to get out the mr. Clean magic eraser in the morning to get my iron ready to pack.) Jan

            Hi Jan.
I'm glad to hear that Annie Smith is teaching. I have been worried about her because she doesn't seem to make podcasts and not much is happening on her website. I know her from taking her first online class The Quilter's Palette a few years ago. She is a nice lady.
It seems that you enjoyed it all, wine and everything

Debbie, thank you for posting the photo of Edyta with her gorgeous HST quilt! I was wondering what her quilt would look like, and it looks beautiful!

Debbie, I missed the earlier post with the pic of Edyta Sitar and her HST quilt. Thank you so much for posting that. her quilt is fabulous, as I would expect. I can't even remember which fabrics were in "my" HST's so can't tell if any of mine are in the part I can see .

And, the photo of you is wonderful, by the way.....

Woo-Hoo - I have finally got to use my B. B.& B quilt for it's intended use - to keep guests warm overnight, and here is the photo to prove it.

I love it too. I especially like the rainbow of colors in the center. It is really unique.

                            Rosemary,
Such a great design and really like the way the orange flying geese set it off. Great job.
Someday mine will get that far.

Rosemary, I would sleep like a baby under that quilt! It's beautiful, I remember when you had come up with the center part- very original!
