Many of you know this already, that I've had a tough year. Wanted to do something positive for me.

I made a wall hanging quilt with some of the HSTs from the exchange and will be bringing it with me to the Houston Quilt Show for everyone to sign. If you see me and haven't sign it, get my attention. I will have the quilt on me and plenty of pens. My boys, hubby, family, friends and other quilt buddies will also be signing it too. I'll be wearing a tie dye, like usual. Clara

Well, I have a top. Long way from finished, but I'm pleased to have made it this far. Won't make it into the book(s), but I thought I would share my progress. I'll post again when it's quilted and bound. I have really enjoyed seeing everyone's quilts. Lots of inspiring talent in this group! Wish I could get to Houston this year, but that's not going to happen - planning now for next year.

Jane, your quilt is wonderful! This is such a small world! I just checked your profile to see where in Virginia you live and if you are in danger from high tides tonight from the hurricane. One of my oldest, I mean long-time, not OLD, friends lives in Waynesboro!

Your quilt top is beautiful and I agree that the red really works well with the hst's. If that is your design, would you mind if I also used it. I have my center square of hst's together but I have so many left that I wanted to use and would be able to use a lot of them in your pattern.
Rain and wind here but not to bad yet (40 minutes northwest of Philadelphia) - worst is expected through the night tonight.
All others within the storms path, stay safe.

@ Lori - Yes that is my design, and yes you can use it. It sort of evolved. I had all of my hst's in a big square, planning to use the big red border with the narrow ivory strip, but it just wasn't enough for me. I fussed over this for a couple of weeks, knowing that the path I ultimately chose would involve cutting the corners off my big square. Scary. I actually made a paper mock-up of the thing, before I spread it out on my cutting table and picked up my rotary cutter. End result pleased me, so I guess it was the right thing to do.
