Thank you!
Thank you, Roseanne. I really do feel the love and all of the exhuberance of the HSTs is so exciting. I can't wait until I start seeing all the SoTTTs quilt projects on TQS and in this Forum.
I hope everyone had a beautiful Easter weekend, too.

Dorothy,
Thanks to your instructions, I was motivated to post a picture to go along with my screen name.
You have some gorgeous quilts on your profile page. What a treat to see these.
I especially love that you attempt to quilt daily. I am finishing the semester (I teach at university) and this week is exam week, so I am grading and finishing projects to complete the semester. I am also waiting for my package of HST, so once grades are posted early next week, I will be able to resume working on some projects. My biggest and most urgent project is to start and complete my second daughter's high school graduation quilt. I expect to have it done by the end of May to display at her open house party. At least, I was able to complete my oldest daughter's on that timetable, so I am hopeful I can again meet such a tight deadline. I will eventually send it out for machine quilting as it will be used in a dorm room and must withstand many washings and daily use.
Again, thank you for your instructions.
Diana :P

Welcome Louise. It is so fun reading the bios. I have to sort my HSTs by state so I can find people faster. I have them sorted by color now. I love going through them. I may have to do a few things outside before spending lots of time with my fabric. We had beautiful Easter like weather yesterday and were able to have a scavenger hunt and egg hunt for grandkids outside. It was so nice after all the snow we've had ths spring. Hope you continue to enjoy TQS.

quote="loise98"]Hi,
My name is Lois and I have been following these conversations since sorting day and before. Like all of you I've been awaiting the arrival of my HST's and they finally came on Friday. They are wonderful and so are all of you.
I am new to TQS and am so happy to have found a community that loves fabric, thread and creating beautiful things from them as much as I do. I have wanted to join in the conversation but had nothing on my profile to share with all of you. You have shared so much and I didn't want to come empty handed. I am learning so many things. I love the classes and the shows and the links to so many things I want to learn about.
I joined TQS less than 2 weeks before the SOTT's exchange deadline. I saw Edytia's show and I wanted to be a part of the exchange. I wrote an email asking how to get in at the last minute and Lilo responded and got me on the right track. I had no ideal where to find The HST foundation paper but manage to find some in a store within driving distance (50 mi). I managed to get a bunch in the mail about 2 days before the deadline and now all of your HST's are in my sewing room waiting to become something. I love looking at all your ideas.
Today I finally got my picture on my Profile and managed to upload a photo of my very first quilt. I have more to share but I am having trouble uploading them. I have a Mac and am trying to upload them from iPhoto. The ones that were sucessful I was able to drag and drop but that is no longer working and I don't know where to go for help. If any one has any suggestions I'd appreciated it. Looking forward to seeing all your designs. Lois
PS. Thanks to Debbie and Clara for all their many hours of work. I just couldn't imagine how all this was going to be accomplished. I felt so much better when I found the forum and discovered how much fun everyone was having with the exchange.[/quote]

Just dropped off 56 international packages and the rest of the US packages to the Post Office. The flat-rate boxes worked great for the PO and made the mail man very happy. Debbie just got the HST that she had left (via my Mom) and I'm packaging those up and hope to drop them off today or tomorrow. Will only have one left, but waiting on something for that one to go out. Soon to be completely done!!!! Yippee! Clara
P.S. Does anyone know what episode that Ricky and Alex showed how to play with the squares and triangles to create patterns. With a twist and turn a whole new pattern showed up. This would be helpful to show my Mom. I demonstrated on the table with HSTs that were freshly pressed. Help.

Hi Everyone,
I finally did my profile and added a pic taken of me and Alex when she was in Toledo, OH (USA) a few years back. In case you missed my post, I got my gorgeous bag of hst's on Saturday when I got home from work. I've hardly gotten anything done since then as I'm lovingly studying the fabric and who sent them.
My husband is so into them too. Whenever anyone shows up, he wants me to tell them all about the exchange and show them my treasures. He can rattle off all the countries and states represented too! How much fun is that?
Nancy, the green "Your hst's are here" sticker on the mailing envelope was such a neat touch! Thanks again to you and all who helped.

Just got back from Florida. We drove from Ontario, Canada which takes two days. We visit quilt shops that aren't too far off the express way. My husband plans our own 'shop hop' once we reach our resort. We stayed in Daytona this time. Great beach and water. Just loved it! It took 2 hours to get caught up with all the forum posts. Exited so many of you have received your HST. I hope mine arrive tomorrow. I'm so excited!!!
My bio. I'm the mother of 4 sons (lost our first as a newborn) and Grandmother of a 3 1/2 year old Grandson and 6 year old granddaughter. My husband and I have been retired from our day jobs for 3 years. We took early retirement at 55. However, we are both in the Canadian Air Force (part of the reserves) and work with youth aged 12 to 18. I'm the Commanding Officer of our Air Cadet Squadron. Greg is my Training Officer. As a child I lived in Germany for 4 years because my father (Air Force) was transferred there. We traveled a bit while in Germany. I've been quilting about 10 years. I'm almost finished my term as president of the Waterloo County Quilters Guild. It's been fun. Doreen (Delizabeth)

BTW...our wonderful Guru Bob has done it again!! If you will click on MY ACCOUNT (far right on the purple bar) and choose MY SHOWS from the drop-down menu, a list of all the episodes that you are able to view will appear, and hovering over each one will tell you what topics the video covers! Is that cool, or what!!
BOB ROCKS!!!
