I will get these in the mail in the next week! Now back to school tomorrow, hope my students are glad to have me back. This has been a great project for a working quilter because you can do steps at a time like, pin paper to fabric, stitch, cut and sort as time permits. I can't wait to see the sorting process if I was retired I think we would have to drive to TX.Looking forward to getting my surprise in the mail. Best of all I am retirning in June so this will be my first retiremet project! How FUN!!!
I'm glad you're feeling good enough to get back to school, Jose! Hmmmm...since we can't wait till June to do the sorting, when's your Spring Break  ? Texas is lovely in April  ...not too hot and not too cold!
On the serious side though, congratulations on your upcoming retirement! I bet you can't wait to dedicate a lot more time to your quilting.

I too am ready to mail within the next few days, had surgery today so set all quilting aside. Slept a lot afterwards and feel good now.
Hope you are on the mend, your little angel is beautiful in the picture!

To all of our International SoTTT's members --
I encourage you to get your packages mailed as soon as possible since our April 1 deadline is 4 weeks and 1 day from today.
As of Wednesday, March 2, I have received 14 International packages and have been notified that another 12 are on their way. We have about 66 International members who joined, so that means there are another 40 or so still outstanding. Delivery time from Canada and the U.K. has not been taking very long, but it's been taking about 3 weeks plus to arrive from AU and N.Z. and other points further.
Thanks and I hope to hear from all of you very soon!

Debbie, I'm still visiting in Mesa, AZ, but am going back to cold Iowa next week. 616 HST's are finished, I was waiting for my post office order which arrived the day I left. I should have everything in the mail by next Thursday or Friday and of course I will email you after I mail them.

Shirley, I hope you're have a wonderful time in sunny Arizona, but no matter how cold, it's always good to get back home again. You're fine on getting your package mailed. I'm more concerned about International packages being posted than those in the U.S. since those are only taking two or three days on average to arrive...but the sooner, the better  so we can get all the processing and organizing done.
Have a safe trip home!

well my triangles are done, my friend Gloria and I did them together and we will split them when they come back and we are both doing the Tree of life.
I am happy to say I am on the mend, surgery went well and dr. said it looked good today.
Thank you Josew, that is my granddaughter. My grandson is about to be born, today is his due date. I am praying for a good easy delivery for my daughter, this is her first and she is forty.

I'm thinking a neat little documentary film about the Sisterhood and the sorter's work, etc, would make very interesting watching. It could show the positive potential of the global network of friendship through the Internet. Anybody have a brother or niece or other network buddy who's willing to take up the challenge? Or maybe there's a writer out there looking for inspiration. OMGosh! I just thought - I know a published writer. I'll let her know.

Here's a time  saving heads-up for those of you who haven't yet packaged your HST's up for mailing and who are planning on sending in multiples of hundreds:
This has never been a requirement with the packaging, but a lot of members are meticulously packing twenty-eight HST's in individual baggies with there names and count on each one. This is really not necessary, so you don't need to spend time doing that. You can go ahead and pack more into baggies to keep them from getting wrinkled, but once I receive them, I'll need to take them out of the baggies and put them neatly together in the gallon Ziplock/or larger bag that I have created for each member. And it would be helpful if you were to stack them into cute  little triangle stacks and then two of those fit together into a neatlittle square and then then they'll move perfectly right into your big Ziplock bag
! And, even better, I can easily fit those three 'squares' in a neat row in the Gallon Ziplock bag and one row stacks upon the other...yeah!
One more thing...you also don't need to divide them up into color groups!
Clara has a very efficient 8) sorting plan worked out which we discussed the logistics of today. With her plan (and it is a good one!) we'll handle each person's package individually, but not in small individual baggies. Since it will take so extra much time on sorting day if we had to stop and open each small baggie, I'm will be taking them out of the baggies as I receive them (and eventually all those I have already received) so our 'sorters' will be able to handle them much more efficiently.
You also don't need to mark each small baggie with your name, count, or screen name. That only needs to written one time on the larger Ziplock bag. But just make sure it's there somewhere  !
We won't go into details on Clara's plans, just in case it has to be tweaked a little, but we certainly will give you a full report, with pictures, once it's all done.
I hope this all makes sense and that it will save you a lot of extra time and work...and eventually it will save extra work on our end too!
Thanks so much,
Debbie

Debbie and Clara you are AMAZING! :!: :!:
Hats oof to you, I would have lost my mind by now! Can't wait to see what and how you have all worked this out. :?: Is there a favorite resturaunt or fast food or Pizza near where you are sorting. Maybe we could send you some gift cards to help nourish your bodies during the day or have a few drinks after! Give us some ideas please. I like the new packaging idea and will try to change mine to that for you before shipping the first of next week!
