Debbie: You sound like you have a fantastic system but oh so much work. Thanks for being willing to spend all this time to make this exchange happen. It is so much fun and when we get our hst package it will be just like Christmas!

              Hi Debbie

I have finally mailed my HST's today. The post office said it would arrive on Monday. I have also enclosed a prepaid envelope for the return with the to and from fields with my name and address. I have mailed 22 ziploc bags with 28 HST's. All is marked according to your instructions. Could you please let me know when you received. After all the work (fun) I wouldn't want them to get lost. I am so excited. Again I thank you for all the time and coordination you are putting into this project. I was nearby I would surely volunteer to help you.

Dear SoTTT's members  again... ,

You're probably get tired of seeing my posts, but I'm only writing them in order to hopefully avoid potential issues for all of us.

EMAIL TO LET ME KNOW YOUR PACKAGE IS ON IT'S WAY: Once you have mailed your package, please send an email to My Profile Page, not as a Private Message or as a Forum post, to let me know.. That way I can move your email into my 'notification' folder and then reply to you when I receive it. If it's in a Forum post or a Private Message, I don't have the option to save the email and a Forum Post could easily get lost in all the pages.

And please send your email to me, not Clara. She lives in Austin, so she's not receiving the packages. She is working with the International members to make their PayPal payments. She is also planning on coming in a few weeks before the sorting date to help get a things organized for the sort. And then again on sorting day...so I don't want to make it sound like she's not involved, because she definitely is...to the MAX !

MORE ABOUT CLOSING YOUR MAILING ENVELOPES: I was reading a post by Ritzy on the Batiks-R-Us Forum today and she mentioned that she's received a couple of envelopes that were not properly sealed  and were open when she received them. I've had this happen about three times with our HST's, so please keep that in mind when closing your envelope. If you're using a manila-type envelope with a brad closure and just a 'lick to seal' flap, please be sure to add tape. Those are the only envelopes I've seen a problem with. If you have any doubts about it not staying closed, go ahead and add tape...better be safe than sorry

                    Thanks again,

                    Debbie

If placing HST in smaller plastic bags which are then placed in one large bag, is it necessary to put your screen name on each bag with the number of HST in each small bag or is it adequate to have that information on the large bag. Thanks for all of your hard work--it sounds like you have it well organized!!

                        Pat,

You absolutely do not need to put your screen name on each baggie or even the number of HST's on each bag, as long as you have your screenname and HST count clearly marked on your mailing envelope and also inside the package where it can be easily found. When it gets to sorting day, the individual baggies will not make any difference at all. I have received packages that don't even have indidividual baggies or even one large bag...they were just packed loosely into the mailing envelope  . That's not a good idea at all because some envelopes have been torn a little during shipping and those HST's could have easily fallen out  or, heaven forbid, if the package gets wet or snowed on  (wonder where that would happen???), those HST's would have been damaged.

Thanks for asking...we need to get every bit of information out there as possible.

                        Debbie

                          Hi, All,
Is a fun time reading all the posts and comments! Not like I have nothing else to do, still making pinwheel blocks for several quilts. My HTS's will go in the mail nest week after i show them off at guild meeting! I got all my fabrics off the "free" table where we throw things we no longer want and everyone can go through-batiks have had a priority on my grab-it list for several months, but did not know why. But, put them to good use and am VERY tempted to keep them! But, just knowing the amount and diversity of fabrics out there keep me focused on sending them! Thanks to all for the fun! ) Bev in Fort Wayne, IN, USA

Ok, trying one more test here. Did something a little different. We'll see if this signature worked.

Hi, Bev! Just think what fun it will be to show off your finished quilt at your guild meeting too! Your guild might even talk you into starting an exchange for them  . And what a great way to add more fabric to your stash...it's amazing that there were batiks there 'free' for the taking. As hard as it will be for you to give up those batiks, I can assure you that you won't be disappointed with all the beautiful print that are coming in too. I can't wait to see the HST's you send in.

Who knew that there were as many batiks and gorgeous prints as there actually are  ??? My LQS is a little limited on batiks, so I always enjoy going to other QS to have more choices.

I can't get my signature to work at all. I thought I followed the directions very closely, but I'm sure I missed something  along the way.
