    Suggestion when packaging for mailing:

When putting your HST's in the Ziplock bag or individual baggies for mailing, it would be much better if you do close the bag. To avoid it taking up space in your mailing envelope, just open it a little and let the air out.

The reason I'm mentioning this is that in a couple of yesterday's packages, a few of the HST's had fallen out of the Ziplock bag and into the envelope itself. WHY???...one package had baggies included for Queensland and Hanne and I couldn't tell if they fell out of one of those baggies or from the HST bag intended for the exchange. Fortunately a lot of you are sending in extra HST's so if we fall short because of things like that, we will have replacements.

    Thanks,
    Debbie

Great information, Kate. Thanks for sharing that for all of the Aussie members who haven't mailed their packages yet.

And to those of you who haven't mailed them yet, please do so as soon as possible so they'll arrive by the April 1 deadline. The two packages I have already received have taken close to three weeks to arrive

I hope yours don't take so long to arrive at the sort , Clara!

Mine should be hitting the post beginning of next week. I don't want to put them in tomorrow to have them sit in a sorting office all weekend.

Rosemary, you should be fine mailing them early next week. The packages from Australia and New Zealand are the ones taking so long. I think the packages from England only took about 10 days at the most.

Clara's should make it in plenty of time since her's will be hand-delivered  , so no excuses from her...right, Clara  !!!!

However, everyone needs to get them posted as quickly as possible...just in case there are unexcpected delays from outside the States.
And don't forget to email me that you've mailed it. As I said before, if we don't know they're coming, we won't know to wait for them .

            Thanks,

Hi - I am brand new today to this forum. Have several questions.

                  1. Can I still participate in the current Triangle Exchange?

                  2. What is final date for sending in my triangles?

                  3. IF this current exchange is already closed, will there be another one I can participate in?

These questions are being asked because there are 41 pages of responses here - an awesome reading job. So, if some kind person could respond, that would be nice.

I look forward to hearing from anyone. We live in northern Minnesota and there is absolutely no-one here willing to do an exchange with me. I have already completed at least 16 sheets (28x16=448HST) and have two more paper packages purchased to make more, so I'm ready and willing.

This one particular triangle exchange (Sisterhood of the Traveling Triangles) is closed. However check out the other threads or even start a new one and see if anyone wants to join in. We had so many responses in such a short time that we had to put a deadline or we would be swimming (Ok, we might be swimming already) in triangles. I am sorry, but there are sooo many quilters on this website, you are bound to get a lot of nibbles. Clara

I'm thinking of starting another exchange shortly, but it won't be hst's. Also I daren't start it now as I have a deadline (10 March - eeeek) to write an article for 'Stitch with the Embroiderers Guild' a UK magazine (actually I should be working on it now ops: instead of being here), and wouldn' t be able to keep up with both. :?

So after then keep your eyes peeled :P

                      Cheers

All 616 HST's are done, in the bags, in the mailer ready for the post office! My screen name is in about a dozen places, inside and out!
Baggies are closed except one corner and I HOPE I did not overlook anything. Hopefully I counted correctly!

                                My dear SoTTT's Members ...

I wanted to provide a little insight into what happens with your packages once I receive them, so I hope you'll take time to read this.

I pick up packages daily (except Sat. & Sun.) at the P.O. box, but because I have a 'day' job too, sometimes I'm not able to get them until later in the day. Once I get them, I open them, put your HSTs & return envelope into a larger Ziplock Bag that I have marked with your screen name, your real name, your HST's count and then assign you a number. ( Expediting this process is one of the reasons we've requested that you include your screen name and HST count on your mailing envelope.) All of that information is then entered into a spreadsheet. Once it's in the spreadsheet, I go through my 'notification' email folder and reply to you that I received them. So far, I have been able to let you know either the same day, or at the latest, the next day, that I have received them. All of this takes quite a bit of time for each package, so if you don't hear from me on the day you think your package should have arrived, please be patient and I PROMISE I will let you know as soon as possible.

I picked up close to 40 packages yesterday afternoon, but because I had a special date with my DH last night, I will not have time to work on the packages until today. And as the deadline nears, I imagine more & more packages will be arriving each day, which will take even more time to process. Through this past Thursday, all members who let me know they were mailed have been notified that they were received. Sometimes my email to you may automatically go into your Spam folder since I am probably not in your address book, so please check that folder regularly if you are expecting a notification.

I'm hoping that if I explained the process you can understand why it may take a little longer to get back to you.

HOWEVER, if it has been a couple of weeks and you haven't heard from me (but you HAD let me know you mailed your package), then yes, please send me an email and I will check my spreadsheet to let you know. It could be that I didn't receive your email either even though I do check my Spam folder every day. I'm not always on my computer (sometimes I actually have to eat , work  ,eat , clean house  , eat , and even do a little quilting and, of course, more eating   ), but I will get back to you as soon as possible.

I appreciate your understanding and I can assure you that you won't be disappointed with all the beautiful HST's you'll be receiving! I wish I could go through every package as they come   and drool ops: over the lovely fabrics, but then that would take even longer for me to get back with you.
