Great little quilt Renata. Perfect flying geese too! My latest one will be sent off in the post tomorrow. I don't know how long it will take to get to the USA now but I am sure it will get there eventually. All flights from Europe to the east coast of America have been cancelled. We have been watching the news about Hurricane Sandy all evening and it is really terrifying. And made worse by the fact that night has fallen so it's difficult for people to see what's happening around them. I do hope you stay indoors and safe.

Thank you, Clara, Diane and Rita! I am so excited to have finished it--I put the binding on this morning because I knew I would have to shut down Rita because even with a great surge protector, I don't want to take any chances with this hurricane/Noreaster... so I set aside a few hand stitching projects as part of my foul weather plan... If I finish these projects, I still have socks I started knitting and never finished... Rita, your lovely AAQI quilt which reminds me so much of skies and meadows will get here without too much delay!

Hurricane Sandy has just made landfall on Cape May, NJ a few minutes ago so now we will start getting the really high winds in this area. There's been quite a bit of damage up and down the coast and you are right, Rita, with darkness having fallen, it will be even more difficult for people, even inland, to deal with power outages and even worse, rising tide, flooding and mature trees falling onto houses because of ground saturation. With tonight's full moon, high tide will be even higher than normal.

Rita and Renata, ditto what Margarita said!

I'm praying for all those affected by Sandy. Stay safe Renata!

Wow, I am so disappointed... A Day in West Africa won't be going to AAQI after all...   I went to fill out the form only to realize that the max dimension is 9x12" and mine is 9 1/2 x 9 1/2' because of the binding... and there is nothing I can do to make it smaller because of the flying geese... I guess I just wasn't thinking  . I'll pay better attention next time... Too bad because I totally enjoyed making this one as a Priority Quilt.

Oh no! It will make a nice gift, though, for someone in your circle of family and friends. Thank you for noticing - you wouldn't believe how many quilts I have to send back to the maker because they are too large and the quilter sends them anyway. So thank you for saving me that heartbreak!

Oh no Renata, that is such a shame. Well I am sure somebody will love it as a Christmas or birthday present. You will have to make another one now.

   The irony is that I KNEW about the 9x12" and ended the quilting with a 9" square (plus 1/4" all around to attach the binding) but forgot the binding takes up space... :x Oh, well...

The good news is that everyone, family and friends, from Virginia to New Jersey and New York, all came through Hurricane Sandy without losses of life or limb, just some flooding and power outages that might last through next week. We're still waiting to hear from dear friends in Staten Island, but they live on North Shore--not subject to evacuations--so they probably have power outages and can't get back to us quite yet. Very, very grateful!
