This is as far as I have got. It's a bit pink and girlie but I only had a limited stash with me when I was away last week which is when I started it. I found cutting out the letters when they are all bunched up together is far from easy. I am really enjoying working on this one.

Looks great, Rita! I went ahead and ordered the embellishment pack and it arrived yesterday. I'll use a bunch of my own stuff, too. I hope to start on this this weekend.

Rita, your quilt is lovely. I like the girlie look. I have had no chance to participate but really enjoy to see what you all are doing. Some day I will try out the techniques

                      Thanks Ladies!

Wendy, the metallic thread was a breeze. I just reduced the tension to 2 on my Janome (I didn't even change the needle from a bog-standard 75/11 ops: ) and it worked a charm. I decided to try using the Madeira metallic thread that I couldn't use on my previously pfussy pfaff and it didn't give me any trouble.

Thanks Margo. I spent some time today stitching the word 'LOVE' onto some ribbons and tape in different colours and fonts. I finally got one I was happy with - and it's in gold metallic on a dark wine coloured tape. I tried the printer version but the ink was too feint - hmmm, just thinking, maybe I should have chosen a colour other than black. I must try that now too. I am having fun.

Maybe there is an adjustment for density of ink ...my printer does... tho stitchin' sounds nice, too.

Yes there is (depending on your printer) but for more ink to be printed you need to go to 'best photo' which should be possible to find in the properties of your printer (I only have experience of epsoms) but I don't doubt that the other brands have similar options, you just have to go furtling for it.

I wasn't happy with the depth of color on my ribbon so I went over it with a pigma pen. Not sure I will use it though--we will see. Then the ribbon I used didn't want to disengage from the double-stick tape I used--again we will see if I actually use it or try something different.
