How are you all getting on with the project?

Slight problem I can't find my printer and am struggling to convince OH it's a good idea to put double sided sticky tape and ribbon through his printer

I've posted a picture of mine so far. Click link

Good job, Wendy! I was going to wait for the kit to come, but that is just putting me behind. Not sure what I'll do. Hurricane Sandy slowed the mail across the Atlantic and I thin Lauren got behind in her kits.

I don't think you're alone there. If I was you I'd wait because there is fabric in the pack and you'll want to check the colours.

I've not done the stitching yet so won't be up to date on tuesday

I missed the beginning of this thread but coincidentally decided to start this project last night. Looking good Wendy. I made up the background last night. Loved the idea of printing onto ribbon.

Oh good Rita, another on board. All the different embellishment techniques look fun I shall enjoy that bit.

Very cute Wendy ! I wondered about that ribbon printing but made a trial run and the did the twill
tape and it worked slick as can be ! I got the kit and I think the beads and sequins would have been
hard for me to come up with but the rest I could have "made do " out of my stash of craft-y stuff ! Oh Well
I water-spotted my silk piece right off the bat because my ironing surface was damp ! ops: ops: It covered up !
All-in-all fun project. Part of my appliques are felted wool and I put the lettering on a batik ...now that
was an exercise in patience !

It's worrying when you cannot find your printer  is it hidden under a stash 'explosion' perhaps?

Too funny, Wendy! Remind OH that life is short... and he can't take the printer with him... just let her use your printer! Now Wendy, I've lost lots of stuff and found it practically under my nose, in particular a nine-patch square for my Laura Nownes sampler (it was right on the ironing board where I left it), but a printer? If you see a cord, follow the cord...

Marilyn, you were really fast at composing the Lauren Vicek project and I love how it's turning out--had you not mentioned the water spot, I would have never known. Great job!

Lovely Marilyn, I can't wait to try printing onto ribbon but will have to wait until Tuesday as I am away.

Now Wendy, about that printer....losing your glasses - yes, losing your phone - yes, but losing a printer :?:  Okay, so where did you have it last? When was the last time you used it? Ask yourself all those questions you ask your DH when he loses his car keys, glasses, phone, wallet, brain cell...

  well it's not down the side of the sofa, I looked!

I'm going to use some felt as well Marilyn I bet it looks good with the other textures.

I just ordered the kit so will try to follow along. If all goes well, this could be a Christmas gift which would give me an excuse to spend some time on it!
