My April mini is posted. It now measures 13 1/2" finished. It's almost like the border on Sue's quilt except for one minor detail. When I made my 4-patch blocks I forgot they were supposed to have 2 different darks in each block. That's what I get for not reading the instructions first, or at least looking at the picture. I figured I could make 4-patches without instructions! There was no way I was going to do any unstitching on these so I placed 4 like dark squares in a row. My 4-patch blocks for my Christmas BOM look the same. I made these first and was taking pictures for a tutorial which I don't have time to put together right now. So my mind was on 4-patch blocks that weren't scrappy. I will be unstitching these so won't get that border finished anytime soon.

I absolutely LUV this!! Annis, how wide is the appliqued ribbon you used for last month's border?

Annis, your border still looks plenty scrappy, even with a less-random color arrangement. In fact, since the pieces are SO small, I wonder if they don't have more visual impact since the color are grouped together a little bit. Jaw-droppingly beautiful!

The border is 1 1/4" and the ribbon is 7/8". I did know the 4-patches were supposed to be scrappy a couple of weeks ago when I first printed the instructions. I like them better this way for this quilt too so am not unhappy that I did them wrong.

Annis, It is incredible! So-o-o-o small, still! Not much room for quilting!

Thanks Connie, this quilt is for our bedroom and its a bright sunny room so I felt I needed strong colours as lighter colours would just wash out in the overall look of the room.

Oh no, I realized I have not started April BOM yet! Lot of to do on Easter! My version is so scrappy, that I realized also that before I start sewing swag border units, I have to calculate total yardage for the white and (was it) yellow fabric for the whole swag border. It would be sad to run out of fabric. Maybe some fabric shopping again...

The April border for my Christmas quilt is posted. The quilt now measures 25 1/2" and the four-patch blocks are about 1" finished. I had to do some unsewing to get them scrappy so it took a little longer than planned. For a few minutes I didn't think there was going to be room for the floater between the borders and couldn't figure out how my paper pieced blocks could be short 1/2", then after placing the border against the quilt I realized I'd forgotten to count the seam allowance. No baskets for this quilt or the mini either. I've come up with something easier to do on the mini which will save me many hours of time. I will just have to admire everyone elses's baskets.

Annis, It IS truely amazing! I love your "small work!" My little HSTs that I sliced and diced, are now 1/2" finished, and doable. And, you know the two squares that you have left over after the two cuts? I can put them together, sew diagonal, corner to corner, and have a third HST of the same small size!
