Yes, It is the Festival of Quilts at Birmingham. I am entering my HST in the Group quilts. The one I finished quilting last night is my Vases and Flowers Quilt and it will be in the traditional section. It was a BOM called Roseville by Maggie Walker. I started it while living in Florida in 2003. So my BOM turned into a BOY (year)! I need a sleeve on both and the binding on the Vases quilt and it also needs a label. whew! I am so excited to finally get that one done. Pictures to come when binding is on. The WIP pic is on my profile, 3rd one over in personal photos. My 1st needle turn applique quilt. I have loved working on this quilt.

Your Maggie Walker quilt is wonderful. I have been drawn to her chicken quilts. I think they are amazing. Now that you are writing about this again, I remember you were finishing you HST Quilt for FOQ. I am eager to see it too. Enjoy the show.

...and who else out there in TQS land is entering a quilt in this show?

My pattern arrived yesterday. I am still thinking about fabrics to use. Would love to see what fabric choices others plan to use.

I have so many projects going the A-Z BOM, a Christmas quilt, a "horse" quilt for my granddaughter (machine embroidered horses), and all kinds of small projects for Christmas swimming in my head!

So why not sign up for this project and learn something new! Oh well, it's a quilters life I guess. Not complaining, having lots of fun, need more hours in the day.

Just ordered the pattern for the Happiness quilt. Also ordered extra fabric from Thousands of Bolts.com to supplement my stash. They had a sale on fat quarters. The timing was perfect.

I, too, have several quilts I am working on at one time. This is a little quilt, right? Surely I can slip one more in? I really enjoyed Jacqueline de Jonge's DVD. She has such a peaceful voice and is a very detailed teacher. Looking forward to seeing what and how everyone is doing.

I just posted a project on show and tell in my profile that I would like to have some suggestions for binding fabric and quilting . Does it need a border?. I finished piecing it just in time for Jacqueline pattern to arrive.

Donna, my first thought is that it doesn't need a border but then what to use from binding. I am sure others will comment.

I am not working on this quilt, as tempted as I am, but I will be watching the video and watching what you all do with it. I guess I should order the pattern.

I worked on selecting colors today. It took me ALL day. It was all out of my stash. I tried before but was not satisfied . I think I may have it this time. I am real bad about second guessing myself. After looking at the pattern I do not think it will be difficult. It looks easier than the one I just finished. I am interested in her techniques.

Wow Donna, it's fabulous. You've got all colours on the outside edge so I would do a narrow border next with light on the dark side and dark on the light side then the border in blue or the mixed batik and bind in the dark colour

OK, is there a 'special' DVD online to watch or is it simply the episode that is referenced in the blog blurb? My pattern is on the way! I'm making in blues and chocolates and lights for my daughter's bedroom wall.

OK, Donna. Am I dense? TQS or Be Colourful site?

PS: OK.. Sometimes I am so dense. I don't even see those 'sidebars' as to me they are "just advertising." Thanks.
