Im with you Judy. The olympics have kind of taken over. I do have some hand work, but that isn't what I really need to finish so today I am stating that "I WILL GET IN MY SEWING ROOM TODAY" Even though it is extremely beautiful outside. My other distractions are two teens starting school next week. Cheryl -
Yeah... Monday I got my quilt squared up ... now the final finishing touch... sewing on the binding.
I went to HOME DEPOT and bought wood to make a new quilt stand to display my quilt at the show.
I also pinned my batting to my backing for my Kaleidoscope quilt....

I was able to come home early today because of the weather so I got another block pieced for a blue/white quilt/wall hanging that I hope to make. Sandi in windy wet FLComment

I was able to get more quilting done on the baby quilt. So far I have done the center trapunto motif, in the ditch on the fans and echo quilting around the center cluster of fans. Today I will get to work on a little more echoing on the corners and start the trapunto around the edge. Kyle and hubby are off to work and Melissa is at the HS for freshman orientation. That gives me a few hours without interuption. So I guess I had better stop surfing and get downstairs. CherylComment

I played with my BSR today on some practice sandwiches. I think I need a class! I did work on an machine applique wall hanging that I had put aside. I had to reverse sew a few times, but not too many.Comment

I got my quilt top basted. In and around the many phone calls from my DH. Then I needed to make a bobbin so I could practice with my BSR before quilting it. I didn't have an empty bobbin and by then I was frustrated from all the phone calls so I called it quits. Start up again tomorrow.Comment

I now have more than half the quilting done on the Quilts for Heroes quilt. Maybe I can finish it tomorrow.

The Olympics are almost over and then I can have my life back. I have been working on hand applique so the two weeks haven't been a total loss. I am afraid to go into my sewing room. I have stuff piled up on my cutting table from Project Linus, batting and quilt tops to put together. I have a big board on my ironing board and at the end of that is a mat for cutting since I haven't seen the top of my cutting table in months. I have stacks and stacks of UFOs piled everywhere and you know what I am going to do? I am going to shut the door!!!!! :roll:

I found http://www.nbcolympics.com and stayed up way too late last night watching the equestrian stuff--all 3+ hours of the Grand Prix freestyle dressage, horses performing to music, just beautiful. I may watch some of the other equestrian stuff today. If you have high speed, you can watch a lot of the Olympics on your computer.

I've decided I definitly need to post on this thread or I may never get this quilt finished. Today I copied the pattern and cut out my fabric. From here I would like to do one block a day until the main blocks are sewn- it will then need sashing around each block, appliqued centers and borders (not to mention the quilting). But, todays goal was to get the fabric cut.
