Lynn - The teal blocks are beautiful. I love the colors. As for me, I haven't done any sewing this week. I have been looking at books trying to get an idea for a quilt to use as a bedspread on my bed. I also went to the quilt store and they had the fabric I needed to finish my son's quilt without having to creatively piece it.

For those of you enjoying "How to Make an American Quilt" -the movie- did you know that there is a book about the quilt? Called "Pieces of An American Quilt" by Patty McCormick (the quilter who actually made the quilt) it tells about the making of the quilt for the movie, and it has patterns and directions for making your own copy! Check it out a Amazon!

Well I spent the day working on the floor plan for the show again. We pretty much finished it today. Then I was home for 15 minutes before going out to usher for the movies. It was work on your foreign language night. The first was in French and the second was in Polish. Thank goodness for subtitles. I watched the first and worked on my quilt during the second one. Maybe tomorrow afternoon/evening or Sunday afternoon I'll actually get the borders on my quilt.

Wow, Lynn! Your blocks are really beautiful!!!! My Grandmother fought ovarian cancer (and kicked it's butt!) for 7 years!!! The Ovarian Cancer Teal project is a great cause and seeing your blocks makes me realize that I need to move participation in the cause up toward the top of my Quilts To Do list! Thanks for the inspiration! Mary Kay

Another great cause is thebreastcancersite.com You can click on every day and they give free mammograms to women who can't afford them. There are 5 other causes on that same site. My favorite is the animal rescue which gives free food to shelters. You can set it up that it comes on automatically. Wouldn't it be something if 30,000 clicks started coming in every day? I went to my mini group day yesterday, we spend to much time talking, but I did get 5 of my "Square in a square" blocks put together, now I only have 6 more to go. Then I have to see about a layout, with sashings, corner stones and borders. Which will be fun, since most of the fabrics used are almost gone , so I have to see what I can do. I have the layout that my friend did, so I can figure out what I can do. :?

I got the binding done today on another of the twin size charity quilts. I have 3 of them ready to hand over to Marsha soon, plus the baby size one. I'm going to get another back and top ironed tomorrow and ready to baste Monday.

I went to a workshop today held by the local quilt guild. We worked on quilts for valor. I got the backing cut and sewed together for the one I started last month, so it is ready to take to the long arm quilter. I started a 2nd project and all the rows are done on it. I have to decide how to do borders still on it.

I have truely been working at a needle a day pace. I finished piecing a Louisa Smith strips and circles wall hanging in purples and greens. I need to put on borders yet but that is the easy part. Today DD and I shopped at Goodwill, Sam's Club, and Wal-Mart. She is going back to college tomorrow and will be in an apartment for the 1st time. I can't find my living room  And I'm too tired to even think straight. I love the teal blocks. They are so pretty. I wish I had found my camera to take the photo of the beater quilt that I made for my lawyers daughter. It was all bugs and bright colors. She is really sick. He said she just lit up when he gave it to her. So no matter how young or old believe me these patients appreciate that some one out there is thinking of them. I am still working on my cathedral window and my applique skills. My DH says I am a sadists. Either that or I must really have a love hate relationship with my hands. I stab myself so many times with the needle that you would think blood was the real purpose to applique. If I could just stop shaking. Oh well Momma always said "it hurts to be beautiful" of course that was while I was getting perms or other beauty treatments done to me.

Went up north for the weekend...no quilting ... no time... I did go to guild last night and squared the quilt for the binding.... I just might have the binding sewn on by next month.

I also pinned my batting and backing for my flip and sew kalidescope.... I will have that ready to go by the weekend... so progress for me.

                            YEAH !!!!!

Yesterday I got another of the twin-size tops basted a la Sharon Schamber, and got it quilted--very simple quilting, a grid of wavy lines about 3.5 inches apart both ways. Today I got the binding on, so it's all done. I need to get going on quilting one of our Quilts for Heroes tops, maybe this evening.

I haven't seen my sewing room since the Olympics started. I went in there to get some thread and was overwhelmed with the mess in that room. Stacks of fabric and projects on my cutting table. I have got to do some cleaning up before I work on my UFOs. I have been doing hand applique on my chocolate BOM in front of the t.v. so my time hasn't been totally wasted. Then, of course, I have been doing the Bookworm game on the computer which is within sight of the Olympics. I am glad this is going to be over soon. Judy in AZ
