I am almost finished quilting the turtle quilt. I have finished one of my TQS Bom's and I have started the needle turn on my second TQS BOM. I really need to set an intention not to start something before I finish at least one of my projects.
I did take on a quilt that a friends grandmother had started for her, its an all hand pieced grandma's garden in vintage fabrics. The grandma really tried to finish the quilt before her passing........how could I resist finishing such an important quilt.

No news on my machine yet, so I spent yesterday cleaning and rearranging my sewing room. While patiently awaiting the call to pick up my machine, I will work on improving my applique skills for the retirement quilt. I did find a lot of "some day i'ld like to make this or that" items. THose are now arranged so they don't get lost again.

Guess I'll add my accomplishments. Yesterday I used my embroidery module (Bernina 440 QE Machine) to put on a monogram and with a border and flowers on one of the many towel sets for my six children & spouses plus for the grandchildren (11) and six great grand children. Hope to finish by Christmas. This is what slows me down with my BOM's But will take a break and get August started Nan F.

Yesterday I finished pressing my FQs. They are folded and sorted and ready to put into the drawers that I bought. Greg and I were working last night for an outside concert on the terrace. Even though we only got a spritz from Edouard, he gave us cooler temperatures for Tues and Wed. It was in the low 90s yesterday, but should be over 100 again today. Tonight is the Univision TV awards, at least this is going to be inside. I might get a little work done but may not. At least Friday is quilt bee so I'll get some stuff done.

Over the last two days, I finished quilting another charity quilt, and this morning I put the binding on. That's two ready to pass on to our Aransas County Quilts for Kids coordinator. I think this afternoon I'll sew more strips together for my next batch of 10 tops.

Frances, this is one of the reasons I love Rockport. All that water in the Gulf of Mexico acts as a giant flywheel for temperature control, so we're always a bit cooler in the summer and a bit warmer in the winter than you folks in the inland cities. We also have around 40 oaks in our yard. The temp out on the porch right now is 86 degrees. It is humid, but I like that--my skin used to get so dry in Michigan.

I took time off from the sewing room yesterday to see Mamma Mia. What a great show!!!!!! Today I went to Target and bought the soundtrack and this afternoon I have been beebopping (and that's something you don't want to see) around my sewing room as I can't sit still. I did manage to sew a little gold metallic on a border. Judy in AZ

I haven't got anything accomplished this week. I've been sick with sinus and congestion in my lungs. No oxygen=no energy & no brain! I'm finally feeling better but I HATE the albuterol the doc put me on! It's like taking a little hit of speed 3x a day. YUCK!! Hopefully I'll be able gather my thoughts enough to plan my next project in a few days.

YOU GUYS PUT ME TO SHAME...

The closest thing I am coming to quilting is working on the web page for my GF quilt shop....

I am trying to help coordinate sending invitation to other guilds and quilting groups in the area to our quilt show.... I am in charge of getting free advertising for our quilt show... My GF arranges and pays for advertising for her shop and the show. This is a bigger task then I though it would be....

                      Well back to work...

Well so far this week, besides going to the Drs. and taking it easy, I have been working on the August BOM, and today was my small day time guild meeting. I had a good time, did a little work on my BOM.

Ok, I went to Hartford for a week last week (no kids, WAHOO!!) and between site seeing and the hot tub I finally got some quilt work done. I finally got to finish the May BOM and got a good healthy start on the June one, however I think it might be a while before I can get back to that project (I will as soon as I can though  ) I have finished over half the blocks for Aunt Mary's quilt, and hopefully will finish the rest this week some time, but what I have REALLY been concentrating on is my SIL's christening quilt.

My SIL found out she was pregnant a couple of weeks ago, so I have decided to make the baby a hand quilted wholecloth christening quilt. This way I don't have to wait to find out boy, girl, or nursery decore and I buy an extra month or two (hopefully, God willing) to get it done. The baby is due in early March. I spent most of my quilting time this week drafting the feathers for the center wreath and the borders and marking the quilt top. THANK YOU ALEX for those wonderful quilt videos - I would never have been able to draft that myself without your instruction!!!! When I get a chance I will take a picture of the marked quilt top and post it in a blog. I was going to applique a satin cross in the center, but when I did it it just didn't look right so I am just going to quilt the cross design and then maybe add some embellishment later. I was thinking some small beadwork, but of course for a baby quilt that might not be a good idea - although I figure this would only be used for the christening ceremony and thereafter for display only. Oh well, we'll just see where this goes.

I'm going to watch Sharon Schamber's binding video again then sew the binding on my stone portal quilt. I'll hand turn it on vacation.

I got the six rows sewn together for the quilt I'm putting in the show at the end of September. Now I have to make the borders and sew them on. Then I have that quilt and a miniature quilt to quilt. I also got some more logs sew on the quilt I am fixing. A good quilt bee day.

I made a bunch of binding last night, enough for several small quilts, and got a little quilt bound and finished today. I might start free-motion quilting another one tomorrow. I bought a bunch of fabric for these little charity quilts a while back. They're great for practicing the free-motion quilting.
