Love ‘Mardi Gras’, fabulous colors, great fun Geneva. I bet it was a lot of fun to make.
Arrived in Canada on Thursday evening. Will be here until Easter Saturday.
Hoping to meet up with Terrie sometime in the next couple of weeks.
Have some doctors appts with my dad next week and another snow storm in the forecast - will hopefully be able to make plans after that.
In the meantime to wash and photograph my IMQE quilt to get it entered.

Geneva, love your quilt. I finally quilted mine, but still need to trim it and put the binding on. It has been a few weeks since I quilted it, but did she call for the corner squares? I don't remember them on my quilt. That doesn't mean they are not there, I just don't remember them. Watching the grands today, so not going downstairs and look at mine. I really like them, but I am not ripping out any quilting to put them in at this point! :S

Cathy, I made mine smaller. I think I didn't add the last border, or something like that. I added the four cornerstones on my own. It was so long ago I'm not sure why, except maybe I didn't want total borders? Who knows?! hmy: I think whatever way we get it done is good. I'd love to see your!

I can't remember if I showed you my guild challenge quilt "Mistakes are for Learning". Please forgive me if it's a repeat.

This was a fun little quilt to make. I had a good time cutting out the flowers and circles, placing them all around and then quilting it all down. There is hand stitching with shiny threads as well as buttons. I put the mistakes on the back. This is what I would say to my children when mistakes would happen. Making a mistake is fine, making it twice, not so much.

Spring is slow to come here. We were in New Jersey last week visiting grandchildren. It wasn't spring there either!

Hope everyone is well and happy. geneva

Geneva I really like your “Mistakes are for Learning” mini quilt.

love the mistakes quilt, geneva, so much fun.
and it absolutely confirms my idea for my niece's bed quilt - hers will not be flowers - but circles of a multitude of batiks - arranged in a swirl on a dark batik background. am still cutting out circles and will eventually have to decide if i want them randomly or arranged in a color gradient...
but started a baby quilt on sunday because there are too many things going on around me so i want something short and fun - of course as I'm changing everything around as i go - it'll take quite a bit longer than just a couple of weekends - but hey - baby isn't due until fall
hope everyone is well and finds many many things to smile about.

All of you can laugh at me if you wish! I deserve it! I thought you all were being very quite as of late, then realized I have never made a comment on the 2018 virtual retreat, so never saw any of YOUR comments. Well, duh! So, now I have almost 4 months to catch up on. I’ll have to do that later! I spent forever on my IMQE quilt, but think my Denmark partner will enjoy it. She is an art quilter, too. Wish I could share it!

And, then I’ve spend the other half of forever on my Hoffman Challenge. The challenge fabric is a toughie, so I just cut out the gems and applied them, raw edge, zig zag stitch. But, I really do love the coordinate fabric, and used it in the other shapes, and bias strips. Since I’m running out of time, I am having a friend quilt most of it for me, then I will outline quilt all gems with metallic thread, paint some glitter, and add Swarovski crystals. Anxious to see the quilting!
